I'm rather lack this season posting upcoming events in my area but did attend this one being a favorite, & for the first time only attended on Friday & attendance appeared a bit slower than years past Saturday may have been better as it often is. Getting a bit tough for this old timer as it seems every event I learn another friend has passed away, as has been said soak it up while you can & embrace those closest to you as life is too short.
We were there on Friday as well, and I thought the population was down a bit. Might have picked up on Saturday, but I don’t know. I got a great set of 41 wheels, picked up some Lincoln brakes I previously purchased, and found a whole slew of NOS Ford engine and chassis bearings for pennies on the dollar. I was really close to buying some good looking Sharp flattie heads too, but decided I have enough heads already. Missed you Ron, missed seeing Allan, but did chat with Steve for a bit. See ya all next year.
I was a bit slow getting around on the Greenfield hills, did well on the level areas & sorry I missed you as well Jeff, I spoke with Eric Johnson (Mikes Classic Fords) where I learned Larry Petersen (Omaha) passed away, not sure how I missed his obituary as I was checking in with him on a regular basis as he lived alone. I first met Larry in the late 50's as he has owned a red 32 roadster with a red/white candy stripe interior & more recently a pair of 32 5w coupes. Larry was always the type to help those in need of a piece or part & was seen at most any local event & could be seen most often with a nap sack over his shoulder at swap meets. His nephew I'm told will carry on with his 32 traditions, he will be missed by many.
No Jeff, however Larry was hard to miss probably, 6' 6 always on the move he had a home on 54 th. & Dodge Street one of the main arteries in Omaha in full view to all the daily university traffic, he could often be seen laboring over one of his 32's in the driveway. I commented on your posting that mentioned the Atlantic swap meet regarding his determined efforts to cut a rear section from a vendors 32 -5w ditch car with only a hacksaw, that was one of many recollections of the Atlantic meet from the early 80's near as I recall.

Ron and Jeff.....thanks for keeping us old slow walking guys updated on Greenfield. Jeff.....I suspect the Iowa/Iowa State game came out in your favor on Sat.....assume you were there.....weather looked great for Greenfield or football. I did not know Larry Petersen, but remember him being tall gangly guy with sack over his shoulder.....moving fast and always looking at my old race car stuff. Over the last 30yrs. ?? really enjoyed the guys who stopped by and swapped stories.....that's what it was all about for me. Can't believe I would head out from Detroit in the old days.....overnight in Cascade Iowa.....load my junk up and leave in the middle of the night for Greenfield......then leaving Pewaukee Wi and doing the same routine only a much shorter run. Still remember the good ole days when one guy bought some Ford front axles right off my trailer when I was on the road lined up to get in !! Still working slowly to put together two future online/onsite ? auctions for my old Willys Jeep stash stuff and another for the remains of my hot rod/race car stuff. Let's stay in touch. Have fun
I too was there on Friday, I'd have to say that attendance has decreased a little each year, I wish the club would "force" everyone together....sometimes it was a long walk....to find there was nothing there that I wanted or needed. My wife had a hip replacement done so we just paid 35 bucks so we wouldn't have to walk so far I touched base with some old friends and a nephew that I don't see very often. It was a good day even if I didn't get a thing. (my wife did though
