Hello from South Dakota. I have been reading THE H.A.M.B. for awhile now, thought I would join. I think there is a ton of great info on here and am looking forward to hearing more from everybody.

I am working on a 54 F100. It has a 292 and the stock manual transmission and rearend. I am looking to keep the y block but find the best way to put a better 5 speed tranny and 9" rear in it. I am just wanting to have a little better highway speed gearing.

    Thanks.

Welcome, I put a 4 speed ( 4th gear overdrive) out of a ford pickup in a 55 by turning down the trans front cover to fit the bellhousing, I could only use 3 trans bolts , but I was not going racing.Dan
