Hi, i've finally taken the plunge and joined the board, as a long time lurker I've gleaned loads of information about us style gr*** roots hot rodding. and gained a lot of technical information. I own a 1950 chevrolet pick up, fairly standard apart from the 2000cc Perkins Prima Turbo Diesel engine. This is a popular engine in Land Rover Conversions over here and should prove to be fairly economic to run. 30 plus mpg. fuel costs £1.30 / litre or £5,92 per imperial gallon. so in the short term at least, fuel economy prevails as i want to use my truck regularly.

hi, currently the US Dollar is worth £1.91 therefore 1 Imperial gallon would cost $11.30 the US gallon I believe is slightly smaller but I don't know by how much. Scary.
