What is the preferred method for attaching stainless headlight rings to normal carbon steel fenders when frenching headlights? I have a mig in the shop I would love to use, but I'm not sure what kind of results I would get. How do you determine what kind of material parts are made from? I am wondering if I can weld the factory grille on my '52 Styleline, but I am not sure what it's made of. It's definitely ferrous, but not sure if it's carbon with some kind of plating or stainless...
