You and me both, Fargo.:cool::cool:

They're nothing special, really. Just another damned GM A-body. According to production numbers there were over 205,000 GTO's built between 64 and 66. So, it's not like they are super rare or anything.

Anybody that knows anything about GTO's knows the most desirable GTO is the '69 Judge convertible with the 370 horse, 400ci engine. Now, the purists WOULD **** kittens if you chopped one of those up. :p

Damn, ever since this thread started all I can think about is:

    "Here come da Judge!" :D:D:D

    sddefault.jpeg

****, most of the guys complaining don't even know what "GTO" means.

GTO stands for: Gran Turismo Omologato. No mention of goats or tigers. :p

Maybe the tigers crawled outta the tank and up into a few people's ****s. That'd make me grumpy too. :D

Carry on, I'm enjoying basking in the warm glow of this dumpster fire of a thread. :D:D:D

Yeah, Pontiac, Deloean that is - ripped off the name from Ferrari anyhow. The magazine test between the two makes was skewed by a ''specially prepared'' Poncho.
Once I knew a chick who only wore thongs. Said it all ended up there anyway..

Funny. I know a guy that chopped up a Judge into a dirt track car. I asked him "How could you".
His reply; Back then it was just another old car, no one cared.

If it was mine, I'd go with a 421 HO of some sort.. Or even a 428.... But that's just me..

That pretty much sums up all the sacred cows of the HAMB...40 Fords, "32 Fords, '55 Chevys etc. They made millions, most ended up s**** metal. My first car was a '49 Ford coupe, I paid $25 for it; when the tags ran out and the battery went dead... I junked it.

  20. Thanks ******! I know I’ll get roasted for this, but I’d put a Small Block Chevrolet in a Buick, Olds, or Pontiac. Geez, it’s not like putting a 460 Ford into a Buick, Olds, or Pontiac. Would there be this much uproar about a 500 Cadillac in a 1964 Biscayne or Malibu?

No way. I'd put an OHC Pontiac 6 before another boring Chevy swap.

  22. Why not? What have we learned here? It's not a muscle car forum. It's a hot rod forum..Engine swaps are cool.
So, no problem with a 460 ford in place of a 64 Chevelle 283, right?
BTW.. Remember when Olds and Buick buyers sued GM for putting Chevy engines in them? (o/t)

I bought a 64 Chevelle two door wagon in the 70's that someone had swapped in a 425 Olds and a four speed, my worn out 57 BelAir with a worn out 283 would have embarr***ed it.
