I have some Guide and BLC headlights that are missing the bulb retainer rings...not the outside trim rings.

My question is, will other makes and models of retainer rings fit these headlights if they are all 7" bulbs?

I noticed a pair of 1941 Ford rings look similar to the Guide/BLC rings and wonder if I can use them...not real happy about spending $20.00 apiece for new repops if I can find a cheaper suitable replacement.

    inquirin' minds...

below is a pic of the 1941 Ford rings...

  2. Just about all those rings have the 3 tabs in the same position. Even 60s & 70s euro cars have them. Opel, BMW, FIAT, You just have to watch out for the distance from the tab to the outer retaining edge. Some are to high , others to low.

I'm pretty sure that they are generic to the size of the sealed beam. My memory tells me that I saw some in the "Help Section" of Pep Boys.

I used plain old Help! brand retainers from Autozone in mine.
