hi, i ve been on here a while but never did much talking... and i just logged in and felt the guilt.. so here: i m 33 from montreal, i restored a 52 triumph motorcycle and started to like hot rods. so i got a 31 ford coupe that is in pretty sad shape and a 49 4 dr monarch. there like the 49 mercs but made in canada, and slightly different. i m planning to build a frame like some of the ones i saw in your tech articles .. not sure if ill start with an original model A from the front to the cowl and the use 2x3 or jus make the whole thing with 2x3. i m planing to run a flathead (i saved from my 53 ford customline, now sold to parts) i started a small car club in montreal called BLUE SPARKS. we had our first annual rockabilly weekender called RED HOT & BLUE last october. not that many cars showed but its a start. the 15 bands were great, the original comets, deke*****erson, and twisting tarantulas to name a few. i now have a decent shop to work in and am looking forward to build this car and trying some old tricks like the buick drum brake setup and maybe even the open drive conversion. i have good neighbours in my new shop, one is a machinist and the other casts aluminium. i<ll be at viva las vegas, i usually give the jive lesson on carshow day but not this year. hope to meet some of you there! Guillaume ps - Lucky is a nick i use on the web and for signing my pinstriping.
