If you saw my post "Hard work pays off" click on the picture posted above, I used an old trick I did years ago on another '54,I got rid of the argent silver splash pan and painted it and the lower grill bar Satin Black and masked off the lower grill bar teeth to give it a "floating" illusion.
I what you could also do is mask off the raised "teeth" in the grill, even down through the bar, if that makes sense, and makes it look kind of like a mercury grill bar. Kinda. Its also a good idea to black out the air deflectors, radiator, and core support when doing this too!
Nice trick for the grille. One question, Why did you install the right bumper guard on the left side and left on the right side???
Riskybiz you have a sharp eye! Somehow it probably has always been that way, when the bumper guards are removed you can see a wear line so when I went to re-install them the "right" way the wear lines were exposed,so back they went like they always were. The car was made in Chicago on a Friday, guess they were in hurry to down some Old Style and catch a Cubs Game.LOL! I've kinda grown to love it.
Nice trick Jeff, I did mine (gravle pan) in Krylon Navy Blue to contrast with the Glacier Blue. I think I'll do the rims next. I may also have to look at that cross bar, nice touch. Jim
