GyroMatic Carb Question???

I have a 1953 dodge coronet with 241 Red Ram with a GyroMatic ******...

I have a question on the carb... I know there are wires which connect to the carb and go to the solinoid on the ****** to allow the ****** to "Cluck" to the next gear or down a gear in the "range" that i am in (either Low Or High)...

the wires are all there and the car moves forward and reverse but the carb does not have the wires hook up to it and it does not look like it has a spot for wires to be connected...

so the question is.... is there a one specific carb that i need to be able to hook the wires up and use this ****** properly... or is there some sort of attachment that goes on to any carb that you put on....

any help or explination would help... the car is not yet road worthy so i have not been able to move the car in high speeds but it does forward aand reverse

There was a specific carburetor that had built in changes to accomodate the gyromatic transmission. From memory, there was both a Stromberg and a Carter used; and different carbs were used each year.

the carb connections also kill the ignition momentarily to alow for the clunk to happen.

There are a couple of fellows on the p15 d 24 forum who are pretty well versed on the semi auto operation and wiring requirements.

 

does anyone have a picture on an actual carb that has the wires hooked up to it... that would be a huge help

What book did you find this in... need to find a good book with this info

I just bought a manual off of ebay this one pictured below you think it will have info on hooking up the carb? Hopefully getting it sometime this week

 

This whole thread brings back memories of my '53 Dodge with Gyromatic. Like when the ****** took a **** on the upper level of the Mystic River Bridge in Boston with a '32 roadster all in pieces behind it on the car trailer. Good luck tho. OB

anyone have a link of an adapter for a chevy ****** that wuld work with my 241??? like a turbo 350 or other chevy ******'s
