In the past few years that I've been here I've seen some amazing vehicles posted here first only to grace the cover of (or be featured in) mainstream magazines. Actually looking up a car is how I think I found the Jalopy Journal/HAMB. I'd love it if we could list them here as I'm sure there are tons of vehicles I don't know about (or have missed). Plus, I think this could turn out to be a pretty great thread with some of the knowledge, memory, and amazing cars of HAMB members. Just in the last year I can think of The Atomic Punk, Live Wire, May Cause Dangerous, Scott Miller's Coupe, The Black Widow, Tiff Collins Roadster... and on and on. So, let's see the cover cars or features of HAMBers.
Live Wire was on Ol' Skool Rodz right???? What about Fanco's Clones of the Lighting Bug and Kookie Kar. Does the credit go to him or Norm.....or both??? Both right?
Don't have a picture, but the R&C cover of the red, nailhead powered A coupe by Rolf, one of my favorite A's (picture from R&C website)
Didn't "Back Seat Betty" by Hot Rod Chasis and Cycle..make a cover (or at least an inset) of R&C? (Picture from HAMB thread)
Can't believe I got three in a row before anyone else chimed in...of course I did pick the easy ones...
There was also a blue 32 ford that made the cover of CKD to with wood floor boards. Who's is that one?? 1shot
Sometimes even the little guy makes it in a mag.... Aug. '09 Street Rodder....full feature and a small spot on the cover.
My Model A was on the cover of the 2nd Hot Rod Deluxe in 1999. (before they reveived it) My 27 Roadster and the 32 Roadster that we built for my Father in law shared the cover of Street Rodder, I think that was in 2005? My friend Curtis Murrells Model A that we built at the shop was on a recent cover of Rod&Kulture. Jimmy White
All the Reno guys' cars on the cover of Rod and Custom Feb. 2009 edition! Ray and Rory Forbes(gray 1934 5 window),Mike and Ryan Hamel(1936 international), Tom Christian(black 1933 3 window, 1934 ford truck) and Troy Moyel (blue 1934 3 window).
My buddy Glenn Kramer has his truck in Street Rodder this month, its not a cover, but I am still proud of him for spreading the gospel. Some of you met him at the Hamb drags this year and I posted build pics of his truck. Unfortunately he is more comfortable with his Pfaff sewing machine than the keyboard, but his hamb name is "Stitchn"
