Built this old steel 3w over the last 12 months. We just got the bare body and fabbed the rest. It was originally a channeled car in aout '58 in NZ. It has had an OHV ford and Chev along with an independant front suspension. The PO unchanelled it and spent 15 yrs massaging the body(thanks) .So now its back all old v8 running gear with 260 merc motor. Not quite finished in the pics, but have done 400 mls now. The rules were no parts younger than the owners.
Here's my Deuce. Alright, it's a '32 Desoto. But Goodguys said it was a Deuce a couple of years ago, so can I call it one?
Thanks! Hopefully Im only a little fuel and a jump start to the starter away from getting this fired up! Really excited to hear it run. Woohoo! Its missing plenty still! Fuel lines need to be plumbed. Gen wiring needs to be ran. Starter wiring needs to be ran. Ign wires needs to be ran. Lower rad hoses need to be made. And parts to fab up the final throttle linkage should be here this week. Its coming together, slowly... But its coming!
Larry wanted me to post this here also: This will be the start of a build thread on my Fathers and my 32 Ford Tudor. The car was bought here on the HAMB from Mike in AZ. The car is pretty much an unmolested car, it was originally Washington Blue (still has som of the original paint inside), no real rust to speak of but it has had a hard life, and needs a lot of hammer and dolly work. the plan is to disassemble the car and have the multiple layers of paint media blasted off, the frame horns need some repair but other than that the frame looks good. The plan for the car is an unchopped Hiboy running an 50s Flathead, 39 trans and reusing the juice brakes that are already installed some time ago. a dropped axle and a 39 rear with 3.54 gears. The motor and trans are already done. We may put the fenders on at some point but they need a lot of work. The car will a great "Basic" car, nothing fancy just something to jump in and drive!! This is the third Deuce we have between us, my Dad owns a 5w that he bought in 1958, that was his first car at 14 years old. It is a pretty much stock model B with a built Riley 2 port banger in it. I have a roadster that was built by the Philadelphia Modifiers in the early 60's and was found outside Philly around 2000 in an old garage. Here are some pics of the Tudor and what has been done so far: Original Washington Blue Paint Flatty: started removing fenders: hopefully within a week or so we will have the body off and can start cleaning the many years of AZ desert dust off of it! Just give it a name if you like , we used the glasurit paint system and said stop when we got close to what we wanted and added a bit more. Just an old style green.
Been collecting parts for 5 years now and the corner has been turned. Just got the last of the parts I needed for the 4 banger. As some have noted the 32 sometimes becomes a storage area for parts. I hope to have her on the road by this coming fall.
Didn't meet you but saw your 3W at the Revolution. It's a killer car and I love the '65 Holman Moody tag on the valve cover. Did you drive it all the way to Austin from Kansas? Awesome!
I have some of 32 parts. I'm doing it the hard way one piece at a time, cause I can't find a roadster project car I like. Does that count?

Well, this is my 32. I bought the car from a neighboring farm 1/2 mile from where I grew up. I remember riding the bus over there and seeing the car in the machine shed. I was told that it had sat inside since the late fifties. It's very solid overall but it will need some lower patches in the doors. When I got the car home I found two giant mouse nests inside the doors so the metal is thin. But other then that there is no rust in the car. The car is complete with the original seats and fenders. The fenders are not in the best shape but they are fixable. I'm going to start on the car this fall. I really like Bob Bauders 32 ford sedan. So the car will get a 3 to 4 inch chop with a nasty small block ford and a manual trans. I guess the theme of the car would be something like this. Let's say someone crashed a small block Shelby Cobra in 64 and transplanted the weber equipped 289 and 4 speed into a chopped 32 ford sedan...
