I am trying to find out more about the rules and qualifications to be able to run the gas coupe sedan cl*** at the H.A.M.B. drags. Are you able to run a minitubbed car with a ladder bar 9 inch rearend and are you able to run a transbrake as long as it fits in the correct year ? Trying to find out what I can and can’t do to be able to run my car this year. TIA Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
@racinchad You should have posted this in the HAMB Drags forum. I did find this "As much as we dig modern cars that haul ***, this event is for cars that were built in the spirit of tradition. That means, we try to stay away from tube ch***is cars, tubbed pro-street cars, modern wheels, and the like…" @Ryan
Generally speaking, if your car fits the traditional guidelines of the HAMB, it will be aloud at the Drags. The safety requirements are fitting with the speed of the car and are similar to what you might find in the NHRA rulebook. The largest majority of cars fit in the gas coupe/sedan category, which is pretty much street cars. For that cl***, you are going to need a minimum of seat belts, neutral safety switch and coolant catch can. There are a few other rules regarding roadsters and manual transmissions, but the details are not in my memory bank. There are a handful of guys here that have done tech for the Drags that should be able to give you more details. See you in August, -Abone.
