I do. It's just my Dad and myself but we get a lot of stuff done. We do almost everything, except... upholstery and major mechanical (building engines carbs etc...) but we will be glad to take care of it for you.

oh and it needs to be 1959 or older (on the outside).

Gators got nothing on the Chauffeurs shop. If you are in Merced its our shop you'll want to come by.

Got 1500sq ft hanger shop. I went in with a close high school buddy of mine. It's private, we have day jobs, but I'm getting close to stop working for the man. I hate the man! I may lease out the hanger next to us, cause it gives me the excuse to buy more parts! Its great and secured! I miss turning wrenches! Anybody need shop help??

  11. I was blessed to find this shop and find it available. My little 2 car garage wasn't suffice anymore. The building itself was an Buick dealership back in the teens. It was Buick for many years then went to Chevrolet for many more years. Now i have it and it comes with its original 4 in ground oil over hydraulic lifts. These were what sold me because for years i have used the old floor jack method and also i have bad knees. It also came it the parts counter which i converted to an office. I threw some wavy aluminum sheet metal to give a better looking appearance (wife's idea). I am very happy with it.

My shop is a private shop.
For me only. (well some times I do a job for a friend, or one of my kids)
Maintain the daily drivers as well as my project cars.
What makes it a shop and not a garage is, it has a lift, tire machine, spin balancer, welders, torches and pretty much all the tools and equipment I need.

Worked in a garage, and a dealership years ago.
Working on other people's cars ****s.
No fun in it, my own I enjoy working on.
Deiference between a job and a hobby.

  20. Myself and afew other HAMB brothers have a 3000 sq. ft. shop right down in the old warehouse area in east London Ontario.....great place to be where you can make all the noise you want with no one around to complain....lol......we were all growing out of the garages we had at home so we grab this building that was where Coke fixed their fleet trucks back in the 1930's.
In the last few years we have had some great parties and the shop plus crew has now taken on the name E.L.T.A. which stands for the East London Timing ***oc.....lol....hope you like the pic's. Great thread!

  25. I started out in a shop at the house but quickly out grew that. I now have 2600 square feet just 2 blocks from home. Nice to be so close but just far enough away! ( you know what I mean ! )

Most days I wish I didn't own my own shop. LOL

As are most shops, mine is way too small. Not to mention my storage building is full as well. I bought an old body shop with all the fixins still in it. 6+ years now full time. Going good until this year. It has been slow selling cars, so I do more repair and restoration now.

I have a industrial machine shop at my house. I design and build everything from custom machinery to custom clutch parts for Top Fuel racing. At the moment I'm dreaming up a multi stage pressure plate for the Top Fuel Harley I tune on. JC
