Damn, I live in the Boonies and I’ve heard of them.. Just kidding. I’ve had a few dealings with H&H and, I must say, all have been very satisfactory. I’ve bought from them and taken a lot of free advice. Reindeer, I know you have committed to dump a bunch of $$$ in this motor, I think I understand your concern. Hang in there. They are good people IMHO.
I've done business with H&H many times, actually as a supplier of custom flathead parts. They have been patient when I couldn't supply because I am at the mercy of custom machine shops that are kind enough to make my parts when they can fit it in. I couldn't afford to produce the parts if I didn't have the cooperation of these shops. H&H I'm sure gets into this same situation and does the best they can.
Thank you Max Sr, for your very good explanation on the process. I underline that I won't hide behind the keyboard. I have called once a month and every time I have been left without any clear answers so I'm sure you understand if I'm bit worry. Time has been much longer than was promised. I plan to visit you in July again. You can be sure you are getting very much positive feedback from my car from scandinavian shows after it's done...Spring 2007 Stockholm and Helsinki shows maybe?
I'd posit - "nuff said" - MadMax has certainly vindicated himself, and I have yet to note a response from the original whiner...who apparently believes that Arduns are just stamped out like PEZ dispensers... dj
You should have. And by "Whiner" I asume you mean "Customer". And BTW, Reindeer posted right before you...
Something strikes me about all this... People seem to think that since the guy is lucky enough to be building an Ardun, he should just shut the **** up and not worry if it takes an indefinate ammount of time to build his motor... I say look at the facts. I say that half you fools would have been calling for HAMBers to 'pay visits' and ****... THink about it... This dude has more hard-earned money tied up in his motor than many of you hard cores have in your whole car. (I know, 'It ain't about the money BRO'... YEAH! Not till it's yours!) And he's on the other side of the ****ing world, just HOPING that he can TRUST the dude that has all his parts to not crook-out on him and skip town. I say the LEAST he should expect is WEEKLY updates on what's going on with his motor. Not open-ended 'We're working on its' or 'it'll take some times.' I say H&H's previous reputation has **** little to do with how this particular deal is handled... Good on them for stepping up on the HAMB but it shouldn't have gotten this far. You have to be sensitive to your customers' individual situations.
