I think I've been bit by some kind of bug. Went to the Hunnert Car Headsup this weekend and just loved it. I saw these cars there and am fasinated by them! So after doing some searching on here and reading the HA/GR rulz I now know that the white Crosley engined car seems to be a "slingshot" rather than an HA/GR rail as the rear axle is forward of the driver. Still a super cool little race car and think that supercharger is just a great piece. Wish I could have seen it run. Unfortunately he ****ped the ****** in it. I am now thinking I might like to build one of these cars. How often do you guys actually get to race these cars? I know about the HCHU, The Meltdown and the HAMB drags and there another new event coming at Cordova, but are there other events throughout the season that can be attended? My wheels are turning and this 1953 235 inline 6 I have may finally have a use other than sitting in the corner.
Nothing close by...that is why the Czars, Fugitves, and John Wells are involved in creating events close by...the MD was created 100% to have an event to piggy back the HCHU...we all loved it som much we simply wanted more....so there is one each month through out the summer to go to and not far away....make sure everyone spreads the word..the more support all 3 get is our insurance for a fun summer for years to come!! By the way...we need more of these cars above.....cannot have more fun with your clothes on!!
Guess you can always go to those test and tune bracket nights if you just wanted to run it. Last night I did some searching on the YouTube and found several video of the HAMBer's out there running these rails.
NHRA (& IHRA I'm told) Tracks will "scrutanize" you a bit but with effort you'll get by as we do at Famoso (Bakersfield). Independant tracks are more Flexable with common sense (again I'm told) , here is a reference sheet I've made up after looking at the 2008 NHRA Rules.
