ok guys i,m new here. i am 65 years young an heve been a rodder most of these years . i have a few questions. i am starting on a HA/GR build. being from the south east i hope i,ii have some one on the right cost to play with. what would be a good wheel base to use? i was thinking somewhere around 110" to120". i have seen some photos with hard tail rears and others with springs. whould like some thoughts on that. i just got a 235 6 cyl. and am takeing it apart today. and while i,m on this note if any one in the up state S.C. erea is looking for an engine there is a guy here that has been runing a junk yard sence the mid 50s. was there yesterday i counted five 235 complete engines and three 261s. plus much other early parts. i bought one of the 235s for $275.00. thanks for your time, and HEADS UP RACEING TO ALL.:D

Pappy, scroll to the bottom of this page and look for the box that says "forum jump", click on the check mark and look for "HA/GR" on the list and click on that. That will get you to the HA/GR forum and all the folks involved in this. Welcome to the group!

Just wondered why you didn't get a 261?

  5. More wheelbase is better, but don't go crazy and make it so long that it starts to look like a late 60's 180" rail. Your 110-120 is just about perfect.
