Okay, just got a roll of film developed, and dropped off two more...my coal-burning antique 110 camera and it's prehistoric film takes like THREE DAYS to get developed for some reason...so these pics are already slightly out-of-date...but only in subtle ways! First up, here's a peek at the beast to refresh your memory and to provide fodder for photohackers who dig side-on shots to mess with...do your worst!
Remember the goofy-ass handcuff gauge holder? Here it is mocked up in place. (I'll probably paint the bracket behind it black to tone it down a bit...being bright aluminum and all!)
Here's what the pedal looks like installed... (Out of a stick shift 80s S10...I didn't use the clutch pedal half because it wouldn't fit right.) This gives a hanging pedal and allows the use of the S10 booster and master cylinder...and can be used in conjunction with the stock clutch pedal if desired. Also visible here is the repaired and re-installed gas pedal...looks stock! (Yeah, I know the pedal is a bit too high, but it's not that bad...I may have the arm lengthened a bit sometime down the road as it's easy to remove...but it'll do the job for now) Since this picture was taken, I've made an extra brace that goes under the dash for support and rigged up a bracket to employ the stock S10 stoplight switch...got the brakelights working today...one more thing scratched off the list!
Here's how the booster and master cylinder fit under the hood. You can see that the booster just about rests on the driver's side fresh air tube. The positioning is really a compromise, but this location seemed to work the best.
For anyone curious... This quickie mock-up shows how easily a 2.8 Chevy V6 will fit! (Edelbrock intake, Big Rocky 1v carb, Hack air scoop sittin on a dead 216!!!) No steering or firewall issues...them motors are DINKY!
This is where I'd like it to get to someday...Kustom body with kinda Pro Street/Race Rod underpinnings!
Those rocker panels ought to let you get real low!! Hey, is that the intake you bought from me? Good work, man. Keep it up.
Well, now that you've got that endangered critter, I don't have to worry about the "green" folks when I biuld my garage extension over his hole in the ground.
I dunno what your first photos werelike but looks to me like your getting the Job done! let me know how that brake set up works if your keeping drums all around
Hey Hack, Good work. Looks like you're movin' right along. Whats your gas tank gonna be like? I saw a boat gas tank at my local Wally World. It was 6 gallons and dang cheap.....(maybe an idea?) Rock on Hack. VT.
