    Can someone tell me when Hair Pins first came around on hot rods?
    OH YEA, and what area? kinda thinking west coast, but ?

    Pretty much day one. Post war for sure, came over from midgets, sprint cars (plenty of which ran lakes right alongside the roadsters) and CRA. Look up Paul Schiefers T, the Spaulding T, Ed Hardings Cragar modified, Bob Wenz's T to name just a few.

    You can go clear back to the 1920s when they were used in the Frontenac Model T conversions. front-3.JPG

    I can't find the Fronty adverti*****t showing there racing parts that included hairpins.
    It's been posted on the HAMB before, if anyone knows which one please post it as I bet many have not seen it.
