History Halibrand history help?

    I ran across these Halibrands and wondered what era, etc. they are from? They have Halibrand and Culver City cast in both front and rear, also 4 1/2 x 15 cast in. The bolt pattern is 5 on 5 1/2. Super condition, no nicks or scars on either side.

  2. Very early Hals - first generation, I'd guess late 40's to very early 50's. Any chance they are for sale?

    Thats a dang nice pair of very early Hals. Great score!

    The 15" size will push them more to the mid fifties though. The patterns were modified for the small slots in the later fifties, then the lager slots in the early sixties. Either way around it, m***ively cool score! I have a full set in 16".

    If buying to use, do some homework. Some vintage racing ***ociations won't allow old magnesium wheels. The claim is they get brittle with age.
