I thought there was a Halibrand pic thread ...I can't seem to find it now. Am I wrong? I'm trying to id some wheels...
Those are 1960's to 70's drag race wheels. That style was also used on dirt cars, but probably would have had a six-bolt knockoff pattern. Probably not that wide for a dirt car either.
These might be the threads you're thinking of... http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=243114&highlight=rare+wheels http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=109805&highlight=front+wheels http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=523234 Not all Halibrands, but lots and lots of cool mag wheels.
Halibrand wheels have their name cast in the wheel on the front side. Real wheels are the only real close copies and they came in 5.5, 8 and 10 inch. Rodders wheels have multiple sizes. Post some photos.
they look like a pair of 16x13 spints in magnesium , heres a pic of some ruff ones drilled to hols slicks , these were 11 wide not as deep of band, a lot of the ones you have picd were double bolt pattern
I'm not sure if I follow what your are saying. All Halibrand wheels have "Halibrand" cast in the front side ...right? "Real" Wheels are close copies of Halibrand wheels? ..."Real" is the brand name? "Rodders" Wheels ...is another brand of Halibrand copies??
I prefer kidney beans... Yes, they have HALIBRAND, CULVER CITY & a part number cast on the front. I'm sure many polished wheels lose their labels... -Andy
I hear ya!!! I have never owed a set, just a set of look a likes. Im just a poor carpenter. What do they say imitation is the best form of flattery.
Rusty that deuce c-dan is a beauty. When I read about the evils of drinking, I gave up reading!!!!! One of my favorites!
My Hal five spokes were shiny like yours (years ago). These are 16x8 and 16x7 inch on our Nova, the early caps had the lip with the plastic Halibrand logo supplied loose. I didn't want to use them so I machined the lip off and repolished them.
