I'm trying to find a new yoke seal for my old Halibrand Champ Quick Change. Speedway says they discontinued them 20 yrs ago. Does anyone have one? Does anyone know about any possible interchange seals? Or can I swap to a newer seal cover plate and find a newer seal to fit that? Thanks.

Quickchange Exchange here on the HAMB should be able to help you. PM him. Speedway Engineering in LA may also have the information you require. They worked on mine. John's Rear Ends in LA can also help you. Google them and send them a quick note. Good Luck.

Speedway Engineering is THE place for QC parts. Talk to Frank, he'll fix you up.

Most aftermarket and stock units for cars use an available seal to avoid the extra cost of seal development. Get dimensions and look in the Master seal books for matches.

Most front yoke seals for Champ rear ends are the same. (I'll have to look up the number.)

But I recently worked on a Halibrand that had a smaller than normal yoke diameter. (Did not appear to have been cut down) A brand new standard seal leaked. I was able to find a seal that worked.

Measure the diameter of the yoke and I'll see if I can help you out.

Halibrand used off the shelf seals and bearings. The info from a 1973 catalog I have says the seal you need is a 50400. Not sure what brand, but any bearing supply house should be able to interchange that number to something they stock. You might take your old seal along just in case.
As a just -in-case you might also keep the number 50136 in mind.

Yes, the seal for your combinations is a Timken ******. (Crosses from National 50400) If you replace the seal plate with a Winters, you also have to replace the yoke. Diameter of Winters yoke is 1.875"
I probably have a couple of magnesium Winters plates around here. They used to only be available in mag.
Edit: I ordered the seal originally posted. It was wrong. The correct Timken part number is 450400
