BC means bolt circle. An old Ford bolt circle is 5.5”.

Yes I did note I said BC but changed it to ( back space ) BS yesterday. ( sorry on confusing )
To be clear, I talk back space.
On BC. This wheels has the 6 pin holes but my Lincoln brakes is 5 x 5.5”.

A note. I heard yesterday this wheels was on another roadster with Ardun head ( not the red 32 I showed ) and Schroder steering but they used a centre hub at rear so drum was moved out 1-2-3” extra inch at each side that got tire way to much out from body.
I has not seen that rodster but was told it shore look odd.
I like tire to be close to body ( but I will use std axles and has a 37 rear axle.

So at mock-upp I will see, but need to pin and re-drill first.

On colour, not black, I’m into polish them ( feel dragracing ) Steel wheels still in front with 4.50 tires ( black painted, no hub cap )

I saw this 18” wheels, very cool stuff spindle mount in perfect condition x 4 of them with NOS Firestone tires.
Not for my coupe but way cool !

This 6” wide Halibrands has actually a 4” BS if I use the turbine side out.
Its not really 4” but say 3.5”.
And that is more than my 16 x 5” steel wheels I planned to use.
The Halibrand 5” wheels has BS with turbine side out = 3”, or compare to the 6” wide tire cones inboard a extra 1”.
Bonus is the rear tire comes closer to body if I use the 6” wheels no matter of wheels ( std Ford 5” or Halibrand 5” )

I’m into just use them at rear and paint them black with 5 lugs with a std conical nut.
This look better to front steel wheels plus it save a bunch of work as they are nice now ( after paint is removed, I has no idea )

I talked to a shop now that can pinn and re-drill bolt circle and they said why not use a adapter in steel ( se picture )
My Lincoln brake drum has stud height at 0.85” and wheel thickness is 0.60” so stud/thread is 0.25” above.
I need a 1/2” or 0.5” thread in nut, but a conical steel inserts get it there.

( Mock- up will tell but I like the smooth side out )

Don’t use conical nuts on magnesium wheels.

Shank lug nuts, like they’ve been doing since the beginning of cast wheels.

Now, try to collect a set of the proper acorn headed shank nuts, not the commonly available modern ones. :)

Studs on drums is 1/2” and hole in the Halibrands are 0.66 in diameter.
Back in the 80’s I used 1/2” studs and shank nuts but later years on my racecar as I use 5/8” studs and they fit direct on ex a Weld racing wheel and studs is at 11/16” ( 0.687” )
So in this case I need drill the holes bigger to use shank nuts.

I do not like to re-drill the drums to 6 studs.

I see black wheels have become popular. Boring. Just my 2 cents. That's all it is worth. I hate black wheels. I have got to have CHROME or BILLET. Oh, I forgot. I have black wheels on my pick up and painted wheels on my 27. Real Halibrands. True K O ' on the front . Pussy [ fake ] K O's on the rear. _side_ - Copy.jpg GOODSGUYS PACKARD 018.JPG

F Y I. Pictures taken at the Goodguys Charlotte show several years ago. Good swap meet. Friday I drove 3 hours to the Goodguys Raliegh NC show. The swap meet is more like a yard sale now. I arrived at 8 AM. I left at 11.45 AM. Empty handed.

I can’t say or decide now but I feel I will only use the Halibrands at rear.
    Polished talking to me.
But it must be a mock-up but drums is 5 lugs and the wheels is 6 pinned.
Its several choices depending on how I like the tire to strech on a 5 or 6 inch, then its backspace and what side I prefere.
Look on the picture on the look on turbine side out.
Turbine side out on the 6” mean 3.5/4” backspace and turbine side out on the 5” means a 3” backspace ( same as Ford 40 )
Now I know the Ford 40 wheel is on the 5” at
    3” backspace.

The smootb side out is more boring but it appeal to me to on this car.

Don't paint them black - would be a waste of a real mag Halibrand, might as well run black steelies then...
Strip them, polish or gently media blast. Gibbs is your friend...

Has anyone used the Firestone 4.50 tire on a 16” 5” wide wheel ?
Maybe the 5.50 is a better tire.
I started to like the fake paint gold but cant decide.

What do you guys think to add upp a set of Kinmonts to this gold wheel set-up ?
That is a new level from Ford 40 with hub caps and Lincoln brakes. Thats nice but this is a new deal in look and $.

If anyone has a color code on the gold it would be great.
My wheels is pretty nice but they did the paint of free hand I heard today.
