    I'll say it again, success teaches you nothing. You have to blunder around a bit, try this and that and hopefully don't break anything too expensive!
     
  2. Got to laugh at that. My granddaughter and I were working on that old Willys I had and one of her friends came by. The kid said, "Man Katey, your grandpa sure is smart." She just smiled and said, "Nope not that smart just screwed up more things than other people."

    I think that the whole deal is that here we are surrounded by people who are all accomplished at something. Some mechanics, some metal men, some historians and etc. If we were a college we would have a teacher who is an expert in their field for every subject. On your average everyday social media site all you have are a lot of self proclaimed experts.

    Many time it is not the carb at all but the piston return spring is week or missing 001 (2).JPG

    I notice that is one of those "racing plugs" that has an extra bracket for the piston return spring so it won't interfere with the actual plug electrode. I have been looking for a set of those for a long time.
