I used to think those old guys were Dinosaurs, now I am the Dinosaur......so sad.

  2. 30 was apiece of cake for me, or at least it was at first. Hell, I had a heart attack at 37 (take care of yourself, guys). Hitting 50 kind of got my attention. However, I know some guys who are 80 who are very active and happy. So ... I've quit sweating it. :)

I would add 70+ but it would mess up the count because some have already clicked 60+. Sorry guys.

Just like a young punk to forget all about the middle aged 80+.

I have visions of a very angry mob a screamin and a hollerin and waving their ear trumpets and walking frames.

Why does it matter how old we are?

I think the most awesome part of this poll is the fact that we've had over 400 members vote in under 5 hours. Shows the HAMB is alive and well.

I was curious how few young guys were into HAMB appropriate cars.

Yes the fourth grade, lived in Fullerton California. I remember the teachers meeting outside the classroom doors for a moment, then the teacher gave us the news. It was around 11:30 AM PST.

    We all GASPED...

I used to imitate JFK's voice in my class, so it was devastating...

Hi, Adam. No offense. I'm 60, and I've gotten the impression a ton of younger guys (and some gals) want to know tech stuff and just what the 'rod/custom scene was actually like, from people who were alive back then and cared about hopping up and chopping on old cars, since they couldn't afford new ones, even if they'd wanted 'em. That's all.

jimi - I for one feel that way about "old timers" for what they can teach my generation about hot rodding. And honestly about life in general. I consider my grand father(76) to be the best sources for information and advise there is. I personally enjoy listening to old timers stories about the world as they grew up. They are proud of who they are, what they've done and how they've got here. I aspire to live by the standard that they have. To prove that my generation is not a waste and honor and morality are not dead.

This totally explains why I'm here, I want to learn! And if I can get to see some cars to drool over, even better.

    By the way I'm 24.

51 going on 16 ,feeling like i'm 80,life ain't it a bitch & did i say winters sucks when your my age !!!

  26. 39--little kid in the shitty-ass 70's drooling at old cars, always hearing about the good old days, which were of course, past. (not sarcasm--I mean that!)

We had a 68 383 Roadrunner, a '72 Chevelle (not SS), and a 53 F100 with a Flattie up until 1975, and then sold them all in like six months and got a wheezy mini truck and a late model VW van (not even the cool microbus). Even as a little kid, I knew that reallly sucked. We didn't have a V-8 in the family again until I got my license (1987), and scored the Galaxie in my avatar--still got it too!

I always wanted to be into old cars--and I dig the HAMB! Now if I can only score a 46-48 Plymouth or Dodge. . . :)
