Well, you can see how far I got. I said WTF, I'll put it on anyway. I just happen to be painting a 40 standard as we speak. I think you would need a 10 in. section . The rest is like a model car junkyard wreck as far as parts go. I like the rear shot. A quickchange from a dirt car with wide 5 lugs and dirt track tires in the rear. Reminds me of a dirt track car. Here are some rough sketches.I had to participate!
I known it late but still wanted to put it out there. This is a larger and improved version of my artwork. 26"x17" ,laser cut pieces painted and layered. I am always pushing the deadline when it comes to finishing projects.
oof never got mine finished. art school took precedent over actual art? go figure. nate i love your use of line. so much energy.
Well, I think this little experiment was a success.. thanks to all who played. Stick your vote in there and have a look at HAMB ART CHALLENGE 2
I always did like sitting in the back of the class...better late than never. By the way great idea Nate..Well this is a dirt late model with 40's clothes, but chop, cut ,slammed, front fender...well how would you describe it? Hog tires all the way around. The Ridge Runner is alive and well.
wow, looks like i voted for the winner potentially... i was almost NOT going to vote for a photoshop/illustrator job on the idea that its' cheating from an art standpoint, but i couldn't deny the end result of looking at satan in the mirror... killer job!
Lmao, I dunno how I missed it. It must have been because I was trying to cook dinner and post at the same time.
I think ChopperOlli deserves Honorable Mention for the best fenderless/hoodless/badass drive-in terror.
I know it's too late but here is a color version of my submission. Also another idea I was working on.
not to complain, however my kids wanted to see my entry, but someone has edited my words and deleted my picture so no one can see it to vote, "Even though I dont have any faith in my drawing"...so I voted for my self.
Nice work Joe. You got my vote. I really dig the explanations. The highlights on the upgrades to the suspension really make it clear that this is a moonshiners car. Good luck pal. Michael
so who won Palat or Natas? what was the verdict, was it a tie? My vote went to Palat, i hope he was the winner because his entry was awesome
we'll call it a tie! I think both were very deserving, but I voted for someone else .. I think you could have made a case for a few different guys. This was really fun, I hope you guys jump on the next challenge!
Hello all, I'd like to thank all for the result. Some awesome proposals, both art and concept, real pro stufff, it was hard to choose! While waiting for the result and gawking at all entries i could not help doing a second custom, a little more radical this time. No sideboards, everything shaved but side and hood trim, frenched exhausts on modified full rear fenders, vertical 41 Chevy taillights, slightly boattail rear, accented by a chrome strip, chopped top with a new window shape and crease, oval backlight, Sombrero caps.
I would like to know what 3D program tose guys are using. Those images are insane. Also, I wasn't sure which of palat's drawings was to be voted on. Tho both were great, the copper coupe was amazing.
Can I vote again? That would put Palat over the top. Man if I only had the scratch I'd build that in a heartbeat. You RULE! -stick
In the future... could you please creat a closed post with just an open poll with nothing but the final images.. it takes too long to go through them all and too hard to compare my top pics... jsut my two cents.. otherwise thank you for this amazing idea and thank you artists for creating some amazing art for our viewing and dreaming pleasure!
i thought about making a new post but i wasn't sure if that was a good diea or not.. if you're on a highspeed connection it helps to hit the "view all" button, that way you can scroll up and down and see all the entries. I also thought I'd list a member one time even if they had multiple entries so they weren't in competition with themselves, so the more times you enter the better your chances are. I do appreciate the comments, whatever I can do to make this work better and easier.
that's cool man, I know it's the first time thru... I'll do the view all next time... I love this! and I thank you for all of your organizational skills used to get this off the ground!
