    Welcome to Motorama '67!

Absolutely my favorite period in car show history.
As a high school student in the mid '60s, my car crazed
friends and I routinely attended the Rod and Custom Car Show
at Pittsburgh's Civic Arena. On my first visit I walked
through the main entrance and there it sat... The Little Coffin!
On the main floor were beauties like Gene Winfield's Strip Star,
next to it was James Darrin's candy apple cinnnamon, diamond dusted,
huge finned monster custom and the list went on.

    I remain hooked!

The original Scorpion was a coooool custom.
But to my eye, it didn't really look like a scorpion.
Soooooo... here's my entry with a stinger and an aircraft
landing light in its tail. With a mid-engine, pincher style fenders,
a tinted bubble and buckets of chrome The Scorpion is ready
    for the car show circuit!!!

Gary. that this is GREAT. i've had a similar design in mind for YEARS now only with a motorcycle engine and single rear wheel out back... oh, and no "stinger". :D my intention was to have a home made personal transport that would be good on gas. i'd prolly use a water cooled motorcycle engine so i can have a heater in the thing for winter time commuting... one of these days maybe i'll actualy start on it.

Thanks guys! I was pretty psyched to do one for this challenge.
I am nuts for '60 show cars.

Kustombuilder... you and I both have the same ideas.
I've sketched 3 wheelers for years.
You ought to check this site out.

A few refinements on the "A" Bone. Added some Magenta flames and few subtle body mods! :D

  16. I hope I'm not spamming here, but there is a very thorough article by Pat Ganahl about the mysterious saga and arduous recovery of the Roth Orbitron in the March 2008 issue of HRM. It's worth a look for those interested in this Art Challenge, Kustom Kulture and all things Roth.

After deep soul searching and many days of gut wrenching ponder! I have decided to totally remodel the Saran Wrap "A"! I didn't really favor the color Green anyway! :D

Here is the A bone with a bubble top! :)

O.K. her's a few different entries from me. I mat be breaking the rules with the last one on here by posting a finished piece I'd previously posted so you (and especially Nate) can be the judge of that. I feel it fits the theme and it is an original that's never been sold.

Up first are a couple I brainstormed the day I read Nates challenge. They are:

    The Jupitor

    ...and the Mako-Meteor

This one was on last weeks art show---

And finally, The R&R Delivery Rod

Just posting these for the hell of it, I wont submit these for the prize since I did this long before the art challenge. Just thought I would add to the good stuff that has been done so far. Nate your sketches keep looking better and better.
