We're going to try something a little different this go around. I've done a few of these now (52 to be exact) and feel pretty conifident (maybe too cocky?) I can make a Desk Top Art Work reasonably close to just about anything we dig. That said: The winner of this auction recieves their very own Desk Top Art Work of any car/truck/bike/? they desire. Can be their own car, someone elses car, or one from their dreams. Catch is, the winner has to supply photos of the car they want me to build. Three views, front, back, and a side view are perfered, but I can build a model from a single picture. A model from a single picture requires me to guess on how some things were done, so it will probably be more "artist interipation." Winner sends or posts the photo(s), I build the car-- post the pictures of the finished Art Work, Ryan gets the bread, and I ship out the Art Work. Sounds easy enough to me.... The finished product will be: 1) hand formed all steel car > not die cast, no non-metal componets 2) shipped in bare steel (no paint) 3) my rendition of the car in the photo > every attempt will be made to duplicate the car in the photo, but it is Art Work 4) finished size will be around 8" to 10" long, around 3" to 4" wide, and around 4" high > finished measurements will be provided 5) Finished car will be numbered, bear my sig, be year dated, and will come with a letter stating Originality 6) Shipped to contentinal USA (other places my require you pay me for the additional shipping fees) 7) will be ready to ship with in two weeks of reciept of photos Auction ends in one week, Noon on Sat Oct 1st. Christmas is coming, what a great Christmas present? Bid often, bid much. Gene
Hey Tman, The Drags were a bunch of fun for sure. Someone sober had to drive for the beer, otherwise we might not have been able to save our fellow HAMBers cars that night. Can we pin this? Least give Tman a run? Gene
Well, i can't compete with the first little pig (who saved so much building his house he could afford to bid on these frivolities!) but I'll btt for ya... Brian
Are you being copied? I saw this in a spam catalog that I receive in my mailbox and I thought of you. http://www.calcarcover.com/product.aspx?id=1551&cid=103
Could be. Can't copy right Art Work. Long as he don't use my name or use my images as his, theres not much I can do. Gene
Remember, you ask for it...LOL The painted ones were early models. Three have been auctioned off as HAMB auctions. You can probably see more if you look in the Friday Art archives, most were posted in the Art Shows. I've been told the pictures do not do them justice. I have sold many to fellow HAMBers (several have bought more then one) and all seem happy. Gene
I won one of Gene's earlier HAMB auctions...guys, you won't go wrong on this. He does great work, and despite any imitations that may be out there, these things are just too cool for school.
guiseat, I have seen the awesome stuff you do with those stone engravings. My stuff ain't nothing to the stuff you do. Missoury Mike, I think you won the second HAMB auction with the rat rod pickup, right? The one pictured here? So many cars, I loose track. I have a book in the shop with a picture of all of them, in order, but I'm too lazy to go look.. Gene
DAYUM Doc... Nice bid bro! fellas, i seen Gene's work in person at the Drags... the man does some cool shit with these cars. great work and thanks for the auction Gene T
Looks like Doc is getting himself his very own Desk Top Art Work. Doc, I need a few pictures, a good clear front view, a good clear side view, and a good rear view of the vehical you want the Desk Top Art Work model built to resemble. You can either post them on this tread, or you can e mail them to me at poorboysshop@aol.com please put "Desk Top Art" in the subject bar. If you would rather, you can also snail mail pictures to me, PM me for my mailing address if you choose this option. I will need your mailing address Once I have your pictures, your Desk Top Art Work will be ready to send to you with in 2 weeks. I will post pictures of the compleated model here. If your happy with it, you pay Ryan. Your Art Work should be at your address within 3-5 days of me getting the word from Ryan. Gene
Man I'm stoked. I just got back into town and found out that I won this auction. I'll go ahead and pay Ryan up front, I have no doubt the car will come out fine. Will send a pm with details of car.
