I've driven my '36 Dodge Pickup for 30 years, till the flathead started knockin this summer. In process of hot rodding with a 331 Hemi
I cruise my long Black Cadillac ("49 Sedanette) everywhere I can. My avatar is the rear taillight. CRUISER
I change my avatar ... once a month or when the mood hits me ... but I use this as a Avatar sometimes ... I do own it and drive it. Owned it for 30 years. I have used these .
Own mine, though havent drove it but a few feet in two years (hard to find people to push it). I do occasionally sit in it and make engine noises. Being a poor "kid" with no garage has brought my build to a crawl, so I set goals I felt I could accomplish.... like maybe retirement age!
Bet y'all thought I was posin!!! My avitar is the infamous 'glass roadster I'm wearing all you out talking about. I bought it as a complete roller and tried to go racing, but it was the gremlin of the day, almost every day. Damned old car got so it would growel at me when I went out to the garage! I decided to sell it, and nobody wanted it, even as a running car. That's when I found out I had prostate cancer. While I was dealing with that, my wife who is a colon cancer survivor, says to me one day, "you need to pare down some projects, you're going to slow down because of the radiation" So I go out in the garage, and it's "what do I REALLY want?" Then it struck me, I want another open wheeled hot rod. So out goes the '65 Biscayne (without the 454 and 4 speed) and in comes the roadster. We cut the cage out,(wingnutz,it's yours if you want it) took out the mouse motor and powerglide and in goes the rat and 4 speed. I'm still in the process, changing to left side steer, new axle to get the car up off the ground, bigger gas tank, Da DA Da Da. But it's spooky, when it was a race car, it was a frikkin' fight all the time, now that it's going to be a street car, it seems to be falling together. At least until the holidays have come along, now it's covered in shit from cleaning house, putting up Christmas decorations etc. But after the first of the year ,it's back on it. Btw, when one of the No Hot Rods Anymore (NHRA) tech kids says you need to check something, you might listen. Last time the car went to Ennis, this 20 something comes out of the tech shed, and makes a quick walk around. He looks at me and says it's the end of the season, so you can run today, but next year, you either need to bring me a new chassis, or get this one certified. So I leave all pissed off. When I started zipping the cage out of the car I found four of the eight welds that held the cage into the car were cracked. You think he was psychic!?! Anywayyyyy. That's my avitar. Thanks, Mike
Mine is of my 1962 Thunderbird and it was the first old car that I bought. I still own it but the engine is out of it at the moment. Hope to get it back on the road one of these days.
My avatar "was" my daily ride.....had to sell her an my 69 GTO droptop to get into my new-to-me home.......I miss her alot!!! She however is enjoying life on the West Coast! away from the snow and salt of the rust belt....
I own it....I drive it.............I am waiting for spring to come also, ready to go cruising some where.
oh yeah. own and drive. went cruisin with SapienKustoms on Sunday and helped pick up his brothers bobber truck project. Quite the caravan.....3 lifted chevy trucks, a 36 chevy cab and chassis on a trailer with the motor ratchet strapped in, a 55 Dodge, and my 49. Even sidestepped the clutch and spun the tires behind the local motorcycle shop in the rain (spun through 2nd with a 216 six and 3 on column). Avatar is a picture from the shop recently. Getting floorboards and body mounts solid in prep for the chop.
