Uh, no... not since 1968. But it's out of hibernation and in surgery, hoping to have it back on the road by spring.
My avatar is an expression of my deep inner brooding and the machinations of a rust infused man-child hell bent on self loathing and the resultant battle against the inevitable degradation of the soul which inhabits, albeit temporarily, the earthly physical form known as human.
Yuppers, I own and drive (although not nearly enough) the Essex in my avitar. I've only owned it since this past February, but I helped work on it and drove it back when it was built back in 1979.
I just bought it. I did get it to run. Backed it into the road and stalled and then a cop drove by and started asking questions. So I drove it back into my driveway. I will have it on the road and legal in the spring.
The car in my avatar was crushed when my shop collapsed on it in a May 2003 F-4 tornado. Really laid waste to the poor '50 Hudson Pacemaker coupe. My first Hudson (I've owned eight since!) Hey, slepe67, are you a 1A4???
I own and drive one half of whats in the picture..... <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/O_4RwwNNUXM&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/O_4RwwNNUXM&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
Yes, I drive mine, not as frequently as I used to as a kid though. Only taken out for quick spins to remind myself I'm not entirely too old, and how much a hate the youth of America nowadays.
Mine represents me well, Compassionate, thoughtful, honest....always on the verge of attack with a lawnmower blade. Also, coffee makes me nervous and I do like me some french fried potaters.
That's a photo of Dad's '37 Harley. I collected enough parts to build a twin to it, but sold the project in October to cover the kids college bills. New owner plans to have it finished and debut it at the Detroit Autorama. If you see it please take a few photos and post them here. I think I'll replace the avitar with a 1962 photo of my Lyndwood rail.
