Is the HAMB banner that was at the LA Roadster Show an official item or was it custom made some were? I'll like to get one for my swap meet spaces at Hershey. My spaces are the same as last year C4J-41-42, and you are welcome to drop off parts durring the day to save walking back to your car and loosing shopping time. Good food vendor is right across from me.

If you get the ok and all, I can make one for you and give it to Doug. I assume he'll see you before set-up?

    Just let me know

Yep, car corral behind the Giant Center. Look for the double wide dark green easy up. I think I have spots like A45-51, something around that area.

If I'm not in my space I'm out helping the econemy, shopping Hershey is a lot more fun than selling. Sorry I missed you last year Megan. Got approval from the Boss for the Banner, so can start planning things.

I'm at GAC-25 if anyone is in the neighborhood. That's the last row on the west end of the Giant Center parking lot, Grabber Blue '70 Ford pickup. If you don't want to carry parts put them in the bed of my truck, if I'm not there. If you find something too big to take home and need to leave it {like a car or body} FIND me, I live 1 1/2 mile from the show field. If you need trailer parking PM me.

This is going to be a great Hershey Meet, I can tell. Guy called an hour ago with a replacement van, looks like Mac is getting a HAMB relay of a Chevy Banger, got the OK on the Banner. All I need to find is spending money.

  17. Thanks again for the relay help... and unless I dump some stuff on Espay soon, sounds like you and I may be relegated to "ogling":D!

    great Idea..

looks like I may only have one day of hershey this year..

I am planning to drive out wednesday nite and sleep in my scotty.

if anyone local has a space where I can camp in for the evening of wednesday (oct 7, 2009) I would love to pay a hamber for "camping space" rather than the campground in elizabethtown.

Yes! That was me, I know I missed a lot of people but it sure was fun meeting those that I did. Plan is to roll in on Tuesday. If anyone is going to Hershey for the first time this year post your questions here, it is bigger than you think it will be.:)

That is a sad fact of how things are these days. Most vendors arrive on Tuesday or Wednesday and are sold out or just tired and start packing Friday evening.

I camped/attended from 1971 to 1991. First 2 years I camped at E-town, then I camped right at the meet till 91. Did they stop selling camping spots right at the meet? I was right in front of the stadium the last year I went.

we did a year in the "lower field" across from the giant center too.. that was about 4 years ago.. the following year when we got there were informed (by herco) that we had to pay for the entire "weeK" which was 150 or something..so that year we camped down by the railroad tracks..which is not a night I want to ever relive..

I stayed at a camground in etown once.. but. would rather be closer to the show for the AM rush.. especially since it appears that I will only get one day..

    ..

I hate that too. I always feel so bad for the guys and families that can't get off during the week only to be disappointed on Saturday.

This year I hope to leave the Friday before (October 2nd) after work then go to the Jalopy Showdown Drags on Saturday, Gettysburg Sunday and Monday, walk the meet Tuesday (when all the good stuff gets put out) and then work Wed thru Saturday.

But that's the perfect plan in a perfect world. We'll see if that happens.

I am set up at RCF 70-77. Bottom of Red field by entrance to chocolate world if anyone needs help or wants to drop off part while they walk around.

  29. MY dad used to work for Allstate and would schedule his "out of the office" work in the Hershey area during the meet. He'd get it all done ASAP and get out to the fields and enjoy the afternoon- and would ALWAYS bring a change of clothes for the mud so that my mom wouldn't know.

One of those years (when I was still little), the weather was absolutely beautiful, so he didn't bother getting changed- put his sunglasses on and walked the fields. That night at home during dinner, mom called him out with a cool, "How was Hershey, Bill?"...

seems he had forgotten to wear a hat, had a bad sunburn and a raccoon mask where the glasses had been:rolleyes::D

Hershey's "Blue Laws" have always made Sunday a no-no. Don't know if they still exist, but AACA has long been older, retired guys so they didn't much care about mid-week. Sure is hard for us working men-between venders leaving so early and the car show Sat afternoon, it's hard to pick a day. This year, I am negotiating for Thursday/Saturday-but if i don't work, I don't get paid and someone else has to cover my shifts so then I have to work for them-and miss something else. Sigh.
