    I think the problem is...

How is Django (or whoever is in charge) going to collect pre-paid money, keep track of it, order calendars from the printer, pay the shipping from the printer to the house, buy the envelopes, package the calendar, print labels or hand write address labels, ship the calendars etc etc

and then continue to send more and more calendars after that.

Its a ton of work for one dude.

I tell you right know.. i know Django.. he aint got the time.

The HAMB T shirts that were done by Mikey was great, but i think maybe mikey might have a sort of business that does that.

What we need is someone who has an existing mail order/calendar/book/magazine business that can incorporate the calendar into their stock or magazine sales.

Instead of printing the calendar and distributing it ourselves maybe we can convince a "calendar company" to do it for us and just pay the HAMB for the right to use the images copy and design.. a licensing fee.

or maybe we scrap the whole paper calendar idea for now untill we get the issues worked out and release a 2004 electronic version. Monthly desktop downloads in different sizes.. a big picture every month you can put on you pc/mac desktop.. a picture of the calendars month. Or maybe even a HAMB calendar screen saver that just flips through the months. maybe people would like it so much they would donate money to a Pay Pal account Ryan would set up for funding the HAMB.. that way people can just throw a couple bucks in the kitty when they download.

Maybe we should do the electronic version for 2004 and try a printed version for 2005.

Just my two cents..(which in canadian i hear is worth a bunch)

    The math..................

    $5151 divided by $15 is 343 calendars

if shipping is around $5.00, then you must sell about 515 calendars before you start making a profit, or make it $15 a calendar plus $5 for shipping, then you have to sell 343 calendars before you start making a profit.

Hootch, what am I supposed to be looking at. The link has timed out. Is it that 6x25" triangle "tube" box?

What do you think guys? Shipped flat or rolled? I'd prefer flat myself, but...

I would be willing to help out. If the paid for calendars were dropped shipped to my work place, I have the time at work to stuff envelopes with calanders, address them and post. Let me know if I can be of help.

It would be $15 + $5. I don't think it would go up for 2. Larger orders will have to pay more.

Like Magnet said, this is a pretty overwhelming task for me. And time is not something I have loads of. I think the distribution will take some kind of team effort. I sure know I can't do it alone. It's taken me long enough just to pull all the artwork together, get releases, make the final art. When did we start this? Last NOVEMBER?

Thanks Denise, we may take you up on that. I'm expecting a shipping estimate to Detroit area from Colorado (just to get an idea) this morning. How close are you to Detroit? I'm also getting another quote from a printer my g/f uses here in Chicago.

As I was typing: About $260 to ship to Michigan.

That's 187. Plus the 25 that a certain some one committed to. Since he emailed me and didin't post here, I'm not sure if he wants that public info or not. So then that puts us at 212. We'll also have to sell about 13 pieces over, to cover shipping from printer to distribution point. And actually, we will probably have to sell 20 above THAT to build up a kitty and have funds to start shipping orders...

I haven't figured out how many I want either. Probably 3 or 4.

  19. I will definitely take 2, Django. I will prepay for mine also. Just let me know when and where to send the $$$.

I'm very close to the west side of Detroit. Work in Farmington Hills with a zip code of 48331

I believe I would be able to convince Fat Hack and RocketJ2 to come over for a few hours to help too. [IMG] Especially if food and beverages were served [IMG] [IMG]
