  8. The pictures of the HEAP with the top back on look deceiving as to the lowness. Compare the two pictures you included the roof line looks untouched on Marc's car compared to yours. add in the skirts and tail dragger stance. WHen seen in person there is no doubt as to the stought wack it undewent.

Your chop was bad-ass...and a great reference. I looked at it several times to see where the project was headed. My hat is off to the pioneers!

There are ALWAYS cookies involved when the GMB's get together. In fact, Roadstar works best with a cookie in one hand and welder in the other:D

  12. Well, I picked The Heap up from Classic Collision, but there was one more piece of work to be done. I fabbed up some taillight housings and a flush-mount license plate bracket from duct tape.

Bryan, your car is chopped? I never noticed. It's always had such a smooth roof, I thought it came from the factory that way. I would like to see it now that yous guys re-bondo-ed it.

All you Chevy guys should line 'em all up at Autorama. Racer Rick can tow the Hackmobile in, and Evan (Ol' Drippy) can bring his as a "Before" while Marc's is the "after".

Next time we should get together and chop something easy, like a pickup.

Quick question.......yea, I know that it is a BTTT. But, who make's the "hand-held" band saw? I was thinking about an Xmas gift and I can't seem to find it anywhere.

  19. Porter Cable makes one also, but I would get a Milwalkee. We use them all day long and they really hold up.

This is the best I could surmise from the post:

The guy that did the striping was Mark Quill (I can't remember his HAMB name...) A talented striper, builder, and all around badd ass. He brought the Green Monster: a cordless porta-band saw! Fukkin awesome.

    1) Send Mark Quill a PM if he's on the HAMB.

    2) Maybe lookup Harbor Freight tools- go to their cordless tool section...or, do a search on the internet for cordless portable bandsaws.

    3) Usually, Hitachi uses green as their main body color...But what do I know?

Who remembers this? A lot of old-timers that aren’t with us anymore and a ton of ppl who haven’t been on here in a while. But wow! What an experience.

  27. Just Talked to Marc yesterday…the car was actually traded to Little Mark Qualls, the Striper mentioned above, for a 54 Chevy, that we started to chop, many years ago, and is long gone..I wanna say the Fleetline ended up in Chicago area.

Marc now has a Chevy wagon, bought on here and Little Mark is still at it building hot rods,
    Striping, and painting

  28. And just talked to Little Mark this morning…weird this thread came back to life..
