Event Coverage HAMB Drag Nationals video coverage & the "Roothawg" Wheelie!

Here are some quick video's that I recorded today. I am WIPED OUT! I will get more pix uploaded in the morning, but here are some video's. I am not sure of the order or who is in which video.

Also, I had the FLIP recorder on when Roothawg went up to the line.......and HOLY COW!!!!, he sorta' hooked up and threw a wheel stander'.......I over heard someone in his pits say that he now needs a wheelie bar......RULER!.

Good seeing you today Chris. The Dragonfly was sick! I was on that side for that run. I think the trackside photographer took a nice shot of the underside as he was running for his life!!

 

Just got home. Awesome time!

I tried to get the Suicide King on video, but it was to quick

 

Damn, wish I was there...lots of FED's very cool....what is with the announcer saying just one run per session? I don't remember that? What is that all about?

 

With the number of cars, my guess was over 230, we were trying to keep the congestion down in the lanes, so we called then up by class, and we were just saying one run per sessions for your class.

We started the day with some open runs, and then did three sessions and our low et round.

 

Great videos!!! Got to get back there next year.

 

at what point does this become two days of racing. so many cool rides.. I have to get out to it one day

 

Carl, I liked watching same class cars running. I was wondering what happened when the lanes were empty then all the "roadster's" high tailed it to the lanes.

Boones, I thought the same thing, I wonder when it will become a two day event. Maybe a Friday afternoon/evening test & tune with Sat. being the main event. I commend Ryan for pulling this event together and for the 6 year it is AMAZING how much it has grown. I spoke with a messload of people that mentioned the previous statement and the were blown away with how it was like back in the late 50's early 60's at MOKAN.

I kinda figured it might be like that so that's why I was one of the first guys in the staging lanes.

Yep, Root's the MAN! I was scared he might have hurt something with that landing but everything was fine, except for a freeze plug that was leaking. He, his dad John, and the Fly rule! Very good to see his tune up working better.

I think Roothawg still made a 14-second run in the DragnFly after doing the big wheelstand on his first pass...

Yeah, I wasn't sure if I had hurt the front end so I sort of hesitated to finish it out. Thanks for posting the videos. It is nice to see the view from a different perspective.

I think track officials said there at around 11:00 am there was 200 cars (track limit) and they had to turn some people down. They probably squeezed a few more in when everyone finally got their non support vehicles out.
