D.W. congrats on the 10 second ET in a street car. Slicks and a sticky track can be hell on a driveline especially with a clutch. I did the same type of damage to a 64 Olds rear with all the so called bulletproof **** with a clutch turbo. I was pissed as hell (3rd blown rear in 20 p***es) until I saw one of the track workers trip over the driveshaft/pinion ***embly when they pushed me off the starting line.:D

Gotta jump in here, D.W. once again you are the man and you made the drags what they should be. EXCITING !!! The coupes ruled this year, The launches , the wheelies and the all important low ET's.

Thanks again ya'll. I'm gonna build 2 different center sections. A stocker case w/ true-trac & hiway gears for the street to get me back on the road & a beefy nodular one w/ pinon support for the strip.

Oh really honey? Two different center sections? I do believe there is a 29 roadster dying to get on the road. ;)

Just kidding. The coupe needs to be ready to go by September 26th. I'm ready - let's get to work!

That picture cracks me up. Somebody referred to him as Mr. Bean. To me it looks like he's doing something else!

And here I was thinking I might get a "check". Now I get spankings! Woo Hoo!

Really though, going with two chunks buys you time from spending the big $$$ right now. A driver quality chunk with highway gears will be relatively cheap. It's the race setup that will hurt a little more and he won't need that anytime soon.

look at those rear tires bunching up--a little more HP and they would be square

Yeah, I think they were too low on pressure? 8 psi I think it was. That pic is from 2 years ago though. This year I ran 10.5 psi

I've got a partially ***embled 3rd member with a Strange case on the bench that I had hoped to have in for the drags. Now I am thinking it was a good thing I was down on power as I may have very well found myself in your shoes..

I was in line and strapped in so I didn't see it actually happen, but the folks hanging out with me said it was quite a sight.
