Ok, I just can't decide so I am calling on you guys for help. When is the ideal date for the HAMB drags for you guys? At least you can narrow it down and I can take a few dates to the track and WZ Junk... What you fellas think?

How about just keeping it the same as last year, after speed week? Seemed to work good last year...yeah, it was hot, but it's always hot in the summer. Rather be hot than raining...just my $.02.

  6. Any day is good...

I don't care if I have a parole hearing that day, I'll be there.

    ...but Aug. 21st sounds cool.

Speed Week in B'ville starts the weekend of Aug 13th/14th so the 21st is the Sat after Speed Week just like last year.
I can deal with the heat and humidity much better then the cold we here in the north are experiencing right now... brrrr

I believe Aug. 21st is the same date as Bonneville Speed Week.
Last year the drags were the week-end after, which was
perfect for those returning from the salt.

So I vote for after Bonneville.

  19. late august screws a whole lot of college and other students, it's too close to the start of cl***. before or after would be fine; i'd skip funerals, weddings, other car shows... four-thirteen

I like the Saturday after Speedweek. That way the East coast guys that go to the salt can stop at the HAMB Drags on the way home and the California & NorthWest guys can have something to drive to on the way to the mid-west for the drags. And the weather is HOT, but not alot of rain in the middle of August. Rain is bad and un-predictable in the mid-west in the summer.

i have no tie ups. however i noticed last time that it being 100 degrees at midday and us not starting until 10am or so made for trouble hooking up. i say spring or fall, but spring and fall are the rainy times in the midwest... just a couple things i'm sure you have considered.

p.s. august is NOT fall in joplin...

Chances of 100 plus weather are slim twice in a row.

That being said...I really dont give a **** when the drags are..I`ll be there, I just figured there was less chance of rain in August.
