Words can not describe it. I am sure much will be said in the next few days and there will be many pictures to look at. It was a great event and everything went well. My brother and I were the first racers to make a p*** on the new strip. I think it was Carl and Craig that actually made the very first p*** but since they run the place and did all the work, they certainly deserved it.

I imagine there are a lot of dead soldiers in the hotel parking lot this morning and a bunch of HAMBers with the brown bottle flue.

Pictures will be up in the next couple of days at www.carnut.com I imagine it will take him some time to get them posted. I will check his site and post when he has them up.

  10. Rand man... your HAMB digger was a success! (read about it in your other post!)

Thanks Sam. My son Kyle got to drive the '57. The old 327 is tired, but he got a big kick out of it.

By the way we need to work on the HAMB’ster cl*** rules, to close a few loopholes. I don't think "auto trans allowed" meant the full race powerglide and trick converter found on the "***anium six"

I'm a member of the Ramrods crew, and we all knew this was bound to happen. Start havin' too much fun for low-buck and someone was bound to stretch the rules, and throw $$$ at it. ;) Bob Hindman is the man behind the Hornets team, and is a good friend, but I think of him as the Smokey Yunick of the Hamb drags. He will stretch the rules like a rubber band. :D After he got jap-slapped by the Ramrods twice in July at the Nostalgia drags in Tulsa, he got some big sponsors and came back and *****-slapped us. So, by God, we need to kick it up a notch and spend some more $$$ on some trick parts and come back and spank his Monkey! Oh and rumor has it that one of Bob's sponsors is having Bob build him a rail for next year. I know this guy and everything he does is hi-dollar! I just hope it doesn't come down to who has the most $$$ wins the Hamb drags. :p :D I did have a great time there. HOT tho.

If it comes to spending $$ do it the IMCA way put a claim price on the motor or transmission. I do not like to do it that way but it sort of makes a line of how much do you want to lose so you can win. oh yes I have had 5 engines claimed over a six year period.3 were clunkers.

Kingpins got situated and they turned out fine, thanks.

Dropped the pan and added a new oil pump before I left too. It did absolutely nothing to help my low pressure problem however. That motor is probably done - cried like a baby all the way there and home. Fred says rod bearing. Suppose that could solve my low pressure problem.

Never been on a drag strip before and hadn't even walked over to take a look yet this year. So I put a helmet on to go make a p***.
"You even know how to stage?" Ryan asks.
    "Nope." I said.
He gives me the basics and I get in line. Don't even remember who was next to me. He red lighted and I went through the gears. Lined up again and got smoked handily.

    Checked my reaction times.
    .4**X
    .5**X

Suppose that's slow since I was seeing tail lights before I even bothered to lift the clutch. Decided to stop and watch the lights for a bit and get some sort of bearing.

    Markedly improved.
    .03**
    .04**

Don't know how that measures up to others but it sure felt better.

Ran a few more times and watched someone ****ter their bracket motor in front of me. Pieces of it were tinkling down the track and bouncing off of my car as I crossed the finish line. I stopped to talk and offer a ride.

Fun stuff. I think I broke into the 17's once? Maybe? I'll have to check. Mostly 18's between 70 and 80 MPH. I'll be back next year with something faster.

Awsome tme this weekend at the drags.Fun meter was pegged on overload all weekend.Just walked in the door about a hour ago.Not sure where all you other journal guys were but me and Crow and the FRC crew had one hoot of a time makin laps at the track.
I layed down a p*** of 15.3 at 84 mph sucide shiftin it but couldnt quite get 2nd gear, but the hi lite of the night was the 80 inch flyrite goin high 12's at over 100mph jockey shiftin it.As I stated before Jason your boy is all **** and Balls man that was a awsome lap.Only problem for the weekend was my headlamp bulb blew out at the track and I had to stap T mans (Trent) makita flashlight on the handle bars to ride abot 30 miles back to the hotel.Jason I have applied for a patent on this and I will let you have 1st dibs on it for next years FRC models if ya want.[IMG] Gotta to be one step ahead of the compe***ion.
I will get some pics up tomoorrow kinda tired tonight here a few teasers and when Crows women gets some up I am sure they will be coooolllll as see was takin pics of everything......
Nice to meet ya CRow and the gang already lookin forward to next year....Shoe

Well I just got home myself and I gotta say this year was the best by far...even though I didnt have car there. Those of you that missed it...****s to be you.:) I didnt bring a camera this year either, but plenty of pics are sure too come.

I planned on getting there on Friday but Mr Murphy reered his ugly head in the form that I had to sit in a loading bay in Warsaw IN for 21 hrs....:( So I arrived yesterday about 12:30. It was good to see old friends again, and was really cool to get to now some other HAMBERs a little better.

Nic"Barely legal"32 Vics car is awsome and was drawing attention the whole time. Him and his dad did an incredible job on that little Custom Rod.

Trents T Touring Tub...ha say that 3 times fast, is equally as cool, even though he got spanked by a FLATTY... oops that just slipped out. Got a late night ride in it Saturday night which was cool...hope we didnt wake anyone up at 4:30am.....BWAAHAHAHAHA

Got to take a ride in the coolest chopped Black Merc also...thanks Brent.

Saturday night was very layed back at the host hotel compared to last year...I dont believe Mr. Cochren was called to calm his people down.

The racing was top notch, a few breakdowns to note Kenny "Axle twister" Baker.... well broke an axle right out the water box. I believe it was one of Speed Kings popped a motor...to bad that thing was a screaming Banshie.

It seemed that Root was getting closer to getting the Fly dialed in as some 13's were seen. 8th Grade Genius put the crowd on thier feet with his maiden run with his Bad to the ****in Bone Blown Willy's P/u. I hope someone got video. Lets just say he took a full tour of the track. He kept it under control and under power it was bad ***. There were alot of fast hot rods that showed this year and was very impressive. I dont know the final tally but this was definaltly the largest turnout so far.

Some other things to note MONKEY kept his pants on the whole time...:O

PLOWBOY can no longer be considered the Gayest HAMBER....he lost that ***le to a certain someone who will remain nameless to protect his inden***y...that and hes a club brother so that would be wrong to out him...and plus he has a neat BLue T touring Tub.

Denise gave her cookies up to couple hundred guys and a few girls too...;) I think theres more than Bonny Salt in them they are awful addicting. A near riot was started when Atch decided to bogart the cookies and tried hiding them in his pith helmut.

A few decided to stay up until the very early morning hours to make sure that noone had to carry any extra beer home with them on Sunday. It was a small contingent of diehards or they were just really thirsty it was kinda hot. Nic and myself did grave detail and made sure all those dead soldiers were properly taken care of.

Such a fun time and good people. And I came damn close to talking myself into NOT going..Im glad I dont listen to myself most of the time. Hope everyone made it home safely.

    See ya next year

Jeff Beck from OKC(?) destroyed the motor.

I was actually on the track with him when it happened. Saw the smoke and heard the ****tered parts bouncing off of the front of my car. He was waaaay out front. That car was fast.

I've never had so much fun on such a slow *** bike that someone else owns in all of my life. Total hoot watching Dave blast away from me on the bobber. And Triumph Terror, that last race of ours was a damn good time. Always a good time up there, can't wait for next year.

    Pics coming soon.
