Thanks for the tip Sam. That's on my extensive to-do list. No Fiddy, but that was a good guess. It's not automotive. Here's a close-up of the bracket and lever my son and I fabbed for the vintage, Hurst master cyl.
I was told about that car by a friend of mine in ark. why dont you let the horse shoe man make your exhalst. I think if we try we can talk andy into coming to the hamb drags then I know he will build somthing. looking good.....Bobby..
Hey k9racer, Andy is a good guy. He used to be my neighbor. I saw him Friday. I tried to talk him into bringing his model A sedan just for kicks. He said he is planning on coming to the HAMB drags. I bought my flattie from him and he wants to see it run. He told me he had talked to a friend that new about the vintage styled dragsters we were building. I guess that was you. Brad
Hey"Rand Man the cars looking great. You guys are moving right along with the project. You should make Mokan with ease. Hope the stearing box worked out for you. See you at Mokan
Big thanks for the box Mr. Mac. Recycler reversed it and extended the shaft. The mount I made has a flat bottom, so I have to shim it level the shaft. Should have that straightened out this weekend.
Well we've been working and sweating our ***es off. I think we'll make it. Recycler came and loeaded it up to finish a few last minute things. I looks a lot different than that pile of **** we started with.
It really roars. We think it'll get on down the track. We got some stuff done tonight. Looks like we'll have brakes and a throttle. Those were the last major systems to fix. We might have time to throw some paint on the ch***is tomorrow, but that won't make it go any faster. This looks fast standing still. . . . My screwy camera may have something to do with that on this shot.
The Ozark Mountain Special of the Speed Merchants team was a success. Brad (Recycler) drove it to the 14.50's at over 94 mph. I drove it once, but the run was flawed with some major driver error. It was a blast. I'm proud of the un-sprung ch***is. The ride on the track was fine but the return road was a *****. It went arrow straight. You didn't even have to think about steering it. I designed it and did a lot of the fabrication, but my sixteen year old son Kyle did the welding and he should get a lot of credit. This car could not have run without him. That old Mercury Flathead V8 was awesome. Recycler built one hell of a motor. Nobody thought the teapot Holley carb would work, but it pulled hard. Brad did more than build power. He machined some cool parts, did a lot of hard work on the build, and is a great driver. We came in second. Our high mph of the cl*** proved we had the horse power. All the hard work was worth it. Here is a shot of Brad with the former owner of the mill (Andy) who helped us a lot at the track.
