Two things, Rocky. You should've put Lee's picture at the top, as the HAMBie winner. And you should've named your new cl*** E(xciting) /G(as) S(peedster), so's we could eventually have ........ wait for it ......... wait for it ............ a HAMB & E/GS meet. Rock, I truly apologize for such a terrible pun, but for some reason all I have on my pea brain is a pair of season openers.
Hi Rocky, Old GMC engine parts are getting harder to source, but we now have them and the machine shop is working hard on the engine. It looks like Ill pull this off and make it to Eagle Field. Looking forward to seeing everyone. Skip
Hey Guys. I just bought Ron Goldens car and hope to make it down. I'm putting it back together right now. Stay tuned.
OK gentlemen, I'll have to take off my shoes to count'em if this keeps up. I should've had Lee send the HAMBie along after ANRA. With this kind of stuff showing up I'll never get to fondle it again.
Sorry Skip, this's the best picture of your car I have so far. Gentlemen, this was several weeks ago when I was there chasing some parts. Much has been done since of course, and in his usual immaculate style.
great to see that you guys are making this happen, these new/old/revamped cars are going to make quite an impression. Looking forward to seeing the photo's, and hearing the stories, Drewfus
BREAKING NEWS!!!!! Larry Luna and Steve Gonzales will have a live simulcast on the QuarterMile Productions website for our friends who can't make! Check it out..............http://www.quartermileproductions.com/
Less than 2 weeks to go and things are falling in place for our biggest event of the year! Participants and Fans are coming from all over to attend the Best "Old School" , "Gr*** Roots" Drag racing anywhere (I'm pretty biased), with cars you won't see Race anywhere else taking on the Historic Eagle Field Airstrip. Dragsters, G***ers, Muscle cars, Altereds, Hot Rods, Mini Bikes, Locals, Celebrities and racers from all over putting on a show you won't soon forget. Many local business' have stepped up to make this event as comfortable as possible in the vast West Side Farm land. KBK Oils of Fresno is scheduled to put down 3 Truck Loads of dust control, Chris Lopes Trucking is hauling in 2 loads of bleachers, Local Storm McCullough is boosting the PA system with more power, Wayne Schott (Schott Construction) is reworking the entrance road, Cerutti and Sons has supplied 4 trucks to haul more Barrier Blocks to the 'Field, Toby Westrope of Tee Dee Us Automotive has made it possible to treat the runway again with VHT to help keep the racers on course, Rueben's Rib Shack is preparing a Large Food Menu that includes breakfast, Eagle field has ordered a 20x30' Tent with Tables & Chairs and the list goes on. To keep the event running smoothly all the Key Volunteers are back with a few new faces joining in to help, a crew that makes my job easy and your visit memorable. So come on out early and leave your troubles behind and step back in Time! Don't forget the eaglefielddrags.com website for up to the minute updates, see ya at the 'Field. Rocky
VHT? VHT? Whaaaaaaaaat you can't have that stuff at a traditional race!! How can anyone do a full track burnout?
Don't worry Stormy will give ya a SHOW We had VHT at the last race and without dragging Rubber it only helps a little. Glad the Farm Truck is ready. Rocky
Here's an AWESOME Photo of the Eagle Field Starting Line.............I call it "the Calm before Stormy"
Yes it can, but unfortunately so can no traction. When I was there last May, a very nice vette lost it half track, my guess is it was due to traction issues. Then there is this Malibu. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3AR8GnUbCWI As you can see from the video he was about half track when it let loose. About 16-17 secons in to this you can see a wind sock at the end of the 1/8 as he slides by it. There was a little breeze, and it's just a guess, but more traction might have helped. But I agree, wind puts dust on the track and also pushes a car around, let alone a truck.
I imagine you guys are hectic and busy getting things ready, but looking forward to seeing photo's and stories from the day, I expect that with your mentioned improvements that given the cir***stances it will be well supported and a great event you just need more 'grunt'..... Cheers, Drewfus
