Thats right, the EAGLE FIELD Hot Rod Gathering Drag Races will include HAMB Dragsters. This event will be as close to the early days of drag racing as one can get without a TIME MACHINE! Heads up, Flag start, OLD airstrip, Dirt pits, No sticky on the track and no clocks.
The event is October 10th and Eagle Field 50 miles west of Fresno near I-5. A big THANK YOU goes out to all the paople who made this possible. Click on the links in my signature for more info! Rocky

    Rocky,
Now that sounds like the kind of event perfectly suited for the HA/GR cars. Wish we had the same thing here in the midwest.

It's a great thing you've done putting together the Eagle Field show and drag race. It should be a wonderful event. Wish I could attend.

I had an email from Joe R and he plans on bringing his HAMB Dragster also. So Joe, ****, ****, and Lee make four. Whatta think Tom:D I can't wait to see how the track may equalize the group, this will be the test!

Rocky, I'd love to say that the Rabbit will be there, but realistically with our current situation I doubt the car will be anywhere near ready, so that part, (having our rail there) will have to wait. That said.......we will be there to enjoy the event and support the effort, and watch the HA/GR cars running on the kind of track they are bred for.

Thanks Tom, maybe you can put it on a trailer and show your progress for inspiration to a few builders up here. Looking forward to seeing you and Patti, Rocky

I know this isn't the 4 sale thread, But Sparky "HAS TO" sell his HA/GR project because,,,,,,,,,,,,, It will be a ch***is, 235 Chev engine, Front axel with spindles, Steering box with a real neat steering wheel, Etc.. But no rear axel..$800.00 Just finish it..It would be a really nice car...**** M.....

I went and checked out a new HAMB Dragster locally today that plans on being at our event. What a cool build with a straight 8 pontiac, this car will make 5 HA/GRs at the Eagle Field Hot Rod Gathering..................WOO-HOOOOOOOOO Sorry about no photos!

Cool, another local. I'm going nuts wanting to get started on ours. Our prospective shop space may have fallen through so we're going to have to regroup. That, and a complete absense of funds after vacation ( yeah, boo hoo for me:p ). We'll get there one way or another.

Congrats again Rocky on all of your progress with this. Unbelievable, after all these years, dragracing in Fresburg Co. Whoda thunk.

Due to the condition of the edge of the airfield we will only have 18' wide lanes (2 lanes 18' each). Because of this Open Wheel (Roadsters) and others may be required to make single (1 car at a time) runs, please p*** this info along to everyone you may know who is attending. HAMB Dragsters WILL run side by side. If the possibility of only making single p***es is an issue please contact me at 559 351 3537 for a refund on pre-registered payments. PLEASE keep in mind that this event is FOR FUN and we are trying to move forward with all proceeds going to making improvements at Eagle Field that include 1000' of NEW pavement at the south end, can you say new Drag Strip? Thank you, Rocky

Well Rocky,, The way I look at it, That 18' will give you just a tad more than 6' on each side. I've raced on narrower strips than that. Remember the 4 cars on the track at once (Lions Dragstrip) now that was narrow....Go fore it Buddy. It's just for fun anyhow,,,,,**** M

OK, I'm working on it already, enough with the nagging. Sheesh!
    :D

Gotta say I'm really looking forward to this thing, Rocky.
Dreaming perhaps, but I see it with the possibility of eventually becoming something in the vein of a west coast Mokan.

I'm also hoping that Willow Springs' latest endeavor succeeds well enough for'em to branch out into nostalgia drags as well. Would that be cool, or what?

We should be there in the mid afternoon, if not earlier. (It depends on how hyper we get Thursday night.)
