    Well,

The itinerary's set, the reservations'er made, the truck's fueled & fluided, the equipment's ready to load, the trailer's cleared, the missus' waitin', the bags're packed, the dog'll be fed while we're gone and the clock's tickin'.
    It's almost then. ;)

Oh yeah, and the "Poppet" & the HAMBster're ready.

Our time machine's waitin' for us at a historic airfield in Fresno County, courtesy of Rocky Phillips.
    Bring it, gentlemen. :D

I don't know, ****. Your ringer driver and your ringer tuner may encounter problems adapting their techniques to such low horsepower. :p :D

    Gentlemen,

I should point out that if you plan to be at the field during dusk you will want to be well armed against mosquitos. I'm talking at least a baseball bat. :D

All kidding aside, the evening mosquito squadrons put the old British ones to shame. So be inside, be netted or be eaten. Even the UFOs leave there at dusk.

A 12 gauge or low yield nuclear weapons would help.

Don't forget chairs unless you are one of the former "kids on the fence" types. There ain't no bleachers.......this ain't the N(o)H(ot)R(ods)A(llowed).......it's Drag Racing like it was meant to be!!:D

WHAT A TOTAL BLAST.. That was one heck of a show.. And YES.. My car will do a burn out. A long one to boot. In second gear. New car blues to start out with, and many "Fix It's" to do.. But, the last p*** was worth the whole weekend..No clocks, so no times. But that little car was moving..Off to shower and get some dinner. details later.. **** M

Damn.......we got home today and it's says 2009 on the newspaper. Could have sworn it was only 1950 something. Anyone that attended and didn't have fun has to be officially declared dead!!

Rocky (and his cast of equally time warped cohorts) have actually found the "Fountain of Youth" on a patch of dirt and pavement called Eagle Field. It's gonna take a long time for Patti and I to come down from this trip.

This was what it is all about, Flag Starts, no times (we don't need no steenking time slips) and Drag Racing as it was in the beginning!

Hell, we even had people that flew in from half way around the world just to tinker with Thingy's carbs.......It don't get any better than this!!

Oh yeah.......a big thanks to Old6rodder for the p*** in the Barn Job.......that was my first p*** down the track since 1969 and the grin is gonna be on my face for a long time.:D

Hey there all of my new found HA/GR buddies , I've just stepped off the plane after a 13 hour flight and thought I'd better check up on what's been happening.I'm still buzzing from one of the best day's of my life. Meeting all you guy's and now being able to put faces to the names is unreal.
I'd bet it took some time for Tom to get that smile off his face , how cool was that for **** to give him a run in his car , thats what buddies do I guess.
**** 'THINGIE' I had some trouble with my cell working over there so I'm sorry I didn't get to visit your toy shop.
Rocky , thanks so much for the dash plaques , all my buddies who didn't come up to Eagle Field were so jealous when we told them how much fun we had.
To everyone involved in the day from myself and my buddie Juice , thank you, thank you, thank you.

Nigel, it was great meeting you and Juice.......Don't worry about my grin, I think it's going to be there for a long while.:D **** and I go back a long way.......without his support we wouldn't be building our car.

Seems as how you two were grinning pretty good too, how cool ya got to crew for Stormy and I know that Thingy appreciated your help with his carbs.

Hope to see you guys again.

It was good to meet you guys as well, nice to have faces (and cool personalities) for the names. Wish I could've made the CHRR with you as well.
Also fun to finally shake the hand of the guy with the only HAMBster a wilder green than mine. :D

Glad you had fun, it is rather the point of it all then.
However, I probably should be less than enchanted with ya. After all sir, you're part of the reason I'll have at least three rather than only two to fight next year, now that you got Thingy's 94s tickled into better shape. If I can't tie mine to the track I'll wind up the slowest (but with the snakiest burn-outs) car yet.

Ah hell, I never could carry a grudge more'n about four seconds anyway. ;)
I know you're not expecting one but I truly hope you guys get a break on your ET limit again.

Thanks for the tune up trick for the 94s,,But now I'm gonna build a new intake manifold and exhaust headers.. For a much better flow..You know, **** and Rocky are making plans to see how bad they can make my little 194 look at the races..hehehe..Again..Nice to meet ya guys...**** M

Don't worry I fully intended being there, had my ticket and all , it all turned to mud in August , Dad got sick again and went back into hospital and now requires care from me on a daily basis .

He will come right but not for a few months and several more ops....I'll see you guys at the Nostalgias??

Hey Craig , that's no good about your dad , hope all works out well . I don't think we will be over for the Nostalgias next year , but you can always hop over to Brisbane in February when we run next.
