    Alex,

In this LINK you can find some more info on the Merc below....

Owners name is stated... perhaps the people from that website can help you.

Some hamber from the East coast must know the owner.

Axle, Are you taking new builds as well? I have a good freind in Medford Oregon that is building a early style 39 Merc custom that would like to debut it at this show. It will be done soon. Dates, info? PM me and I will give ya my number. By the way. His stuff is always top shelf.

The dates for this event is February 6-8th - 2009. It is a one time only event and will be taking place during the Sacramento Autorama - Sacramento "Cal Expo" Fairgrounds.

People have called, emailed, and wrote us letters from around the world , just to let us know they are attending.

Again, never before, have all of these prestigious Mercs been together under one roof, and chances are, will never be together like this again.

If you look at Rikster's site we have allowed a very small amount of newer built cars but they must be traditional.

I am indeed looking for the 40 Merc convertible in the above post.

Thanks guys and have a great weekend.

The closest Motel 6 is at 7850 College town Drive. Phone number is (916) 383-8112. It is 7.2 miles from Cal Expo. Chip.

Does anybody know the current whereabouts of the Valley Custom Shop built 1939 (with 1940 Front end) Mercury convertible for Glen ******?

I know the car has been found.. and I believe the car and owner where reunited at one point. And I also heard that Glen was planning to restore it back to how it looked in the 50's.... But where is it now?

This one would be a great car to have at the gathering... completely restored or as found... any shape will do!

Rick, Gordy Brown has the Glen ****** Merc. I don't see Gord very often but I'll try to contact him if Axle is interested in trying to get it there.

I haven't seen the car but I don't believe Gordy is working on it right now so it is probably in the same condition as keith's photo shows.

NEW TO THE SITE, AND A GREAT SITE IT IS, AWESOME POST AS WELL. WOULD LOVE TO ATEND THIS ONCE IS A LIFETIME EVENT BUT MY DISABILITY SAY NO. STONGLY SUGGEST A PHOTO BOOKLET FOR THOSE OF US WHO CAN'T MAKE IT. SUGGEST YOU BRING RODDERS JOURNAL ON BOARD. ALSO, FORD MOTOR GOT INVOLVED IN THE DUECE GATHERING, WILL THEY BE INVOLVED IN THIS ALSO ?. I SUGGESTED TO RODDERS JOURNAL THAT THEY PUT TOGETHER A LISTING OF ALL CARS WITH NAMES SO READERS CAN HELP IN LOCATING THEM. THIS MERC GATHERING IS A PERFECT EXAMPLE. PERSONAL FAVORITE IS ANY MERC THAT HAD THE "BUBBLE" SKIRTS. BACK IN THE DAY HAD A GUY IN INKSTER, MI WHO MADE AND SOLD THEM FOR A $100. A SET. MADE THEM FROM THE ROOFS OF CARS SINCE THEM THEY HAD ALOT OF THE CURVE ALREADY IN PLACE. JUST A BIT OF TRIVIA. HAD A FRIEND WHO'S SET WERE 6 FEET LONG ON A '54 MERC. YOU ALL ARE DOING A AWESOME JOB.

Hi John, there are a lot of photographers coming out but we don't have anyone designated to take personal photo's for us. If you would like to come out and take pictures then post them on here that would be great.

The white 40 Merc convert was built by Meeker auto body in the very early 50s for Maxie King and later updated with the quad headlights by **** "Corky "Corkes and is presently owned by Mark Confourth of Sus*** N.J.
