Yes Stardust will be at the show.... Freshly restored by the talented crew of craftsman at Brizio's. And I'm looking so much forward to see that car! Did you do the prep and paint on this one Darryl? I'm not even sure if the car already is finished or not right now.

Axle ; My hat is off to you and all involved in this Historic event!!
I know money is tight for many! But the significance of this "Historic
Mercury Event" far out weigh personal economics!
For me it truly will be California or "BUST"
The memories and time spent with old and new friends will last a life time!!
I just need to find an enclosed trailer (I have located a siphon hose)

What a beautiful car that is. I had a chance to talk to Bill Reasoner about the car a long time ago. He said he made the side window frames out of br***. They were hammered into shape against the top edge of a 55 gal drum. That is old school or what?

Hey Axle, I have a dealer promo film reel for the NEW 1939 Mercury line. It's an original film reel. It's complete. I haven't viewed yet. Just looked at some of the stills like view finder so far. Let me know?

if i'm not mistaken that merc was from glen avon in riverside county i used to see it all the time. i think Bill Hines painted it also i could be wrong but i know uncle Bill had something to do with it. i haven't seen it for years i figured the owner either p***ed away or moved away cause i didn't think he would ever sell it

Anyone reading this that was personally invited to display your Merc in this event , and has received a form in the mail, please fill it out and return it right away. The producer of the show needs to start ordering jackets.

    Thanks, Axle

Awesome, i've received emails from all over Europe, Australia, and New Zealand , letting me know they're coming out for this.

Still would like to get a couple nice 41-48 Custom Mercs. Anyone?

This 41 Sedan is from California.. I have seen it around at different shows for the last couple of years. Its a very mild custom, but I always liked it a lot.

  18. Hey Axle...

Not a custom, but I am acquainted with a guy locally that has a concours-quality '46 Merc convertible, if you need a stocker for the indoor show...

Shoot me a PM and I can dig up his contact info. I'm sure he still has the car...

Re:Mercs, I think Jack Walker (lives in Missouri)has the Westergard Merc, and McCormick still has the Alcorn Merc. I did a '49 Merc in 1994 called "MoonFire" that's in the Chicago area now. Marv Giambastiani in Novato knows where Bub Millard's pearl orange '50 Merc is. Frank Livingston at: franks49@sbcglobal.net

Axle -- are you going to have a table set up to let guys have a place for their photo albums to show old photos and new Merc projects?
Sonny Daout has been building a chopped, hardtopped, sectioned,
51 Merc that has about as many select modifications you can do.
Maybe if enough guys e-mails Sonny, he'll bring his photo album of his
soon to be a great show stopping Merc.
Don't let him in the building if he doesn't! LOL

Looking so much forward to see that masterpiece in person.
A few month ago I was kolorizing the Bertoluccie Merc photo for the Rodder's Journal #42 cover, and was thinking how great it would be to one day see that car in person.... Now it will happen, it just cant get any better!!!

This is going to be one amazing show. So many cars that we've only read about in car mags, many of them thought to have been lost to history and never to be seen again, are going to be there. Wow! Dust off those Nikons, you're gonna need 'em!

Anyone in the Tucson Arizona area know Larry Dames (owns the Frank Sonzogni Merc) . I've talked to him in the past but have not heard from him in a month. The phone just rings and rings and rings . If anyone lives near him or happens to have a cell # please send me a PM. I really want his car in the show !

    Thanks, Axle
