Dale Hollenbeck"s Merc is coming. I talked to his wife and son and they told me it will be in Sacramento. Chip

Low Springs, when you say the car will be there you mean the Sacramento Autorama part of the show, and not this Merc display, correct?

this merc reminds me of the merc that the Salinas boys member was building, back in 94 or 95. i heard he got married and had to sell it. i think he called it the atomicmerc

I'm sorry i quoted the wrong reply i was talking about the mare metal merc pics

    Update:

Bo hopkins & candy clark - stars of american graffiti will be in attendance.

Also: There will be a panel discussion regarding the early years of the custom merc.

Just some of the speakers will be - john barris (sam barris' son)
gene winfield, and many others that we will announce soon !

Axle, what about the Buddy Ohanesian Merc? I don't see it on Rikster's list.
That car would be very significant to have attend - not only because it was one of the earliest of customized Mercs, but also that it was originally a Sacramento car and was built by two of Sac's finest - Bertolucci & Westergard. Can't get much more significant than that.

    Cleatus,
I've called and talked to the owner 3 times but unfortunately he doesn't seem very interested in being in this prestigious one in a lifetime event.

Such a neat car but i can't push it.

Yes absolutley.... Both Westergard and Bertolucci worked on the car... It really needs to be there. Perhaps you can have **** Bertollucci give him a call???

    It looks great indoors.

Guys, I'm not going to bug the guy as thats what i feel i'm doing at this point. Being so close to Sacramento he's simply not interested. If Jim A wants to call him and ask it wouldn't hurt though.

The Green Flame is owned by Don Garlits and doesn't look this same - in fact it doesn't have flames on it any longer.

On a positive note: Looks like i'm getting the Bettancourt Merc - all the way from New Jersey !

Also: (cross your fingers) i also think theres a good chance i'll be getting Bill Laymans 54 Merc and the Fred Rowe Merc. Both are on the east coast as well.

This car was just added. It was built by Joe Bailon in 1958 for Jim Doyle in San Jose.

I see the Bertolucci Merc made the cover of Rodders Journal. Neat car,and very different.

Hope you get that car in this show.
