anyone who gets out of church, comes home, and watches the storm chasers marraton all day and night! im lookin outside and its friggin winter! not sure what a legend really would be here, but all those folks who build , drive hotrods, draw hot rods, or own hotrods....but not really legends, more like heros!
The two that stick out in my mind are Rikster and Jim Sibley Rikster knows about every car photograph in any publication from the beginning of time. random hamber "Here's an old custom I just bought. Anyone recognize it?" Rikster "Here's a picture of it from the July 1954 Bumble**** Nebraska Pennysaver...." And guys talk about Jim Sibley like a 4 year old talks about his dad. Someone will post a picture of a car turned upside down in a dried out riverbed and the comments come rolling in. "Jim Sibley could fix that" "Jim Sibley would have that car driveable in 3 weeks" "Jim Sibley could fix that car with a screwdriver and a vise grip, in the ditch, and drive it home" "Jim Sibley could fix that car telepathically just by looking at the picture on his screen". That's a lot to live up to, but it seems like whenever there is a question to whether a car is fixable, the answer is inevitably "Jim Sibley could fix it".
lots of people qualify! squirel, ray, fathack, flat ernie, dirty t, safari nut, metal shapes, racefab, and so many more!
The HAMB is the greatest collection of old car people on the internet, and their combined knowledge is amazing. I wouldn't want to pick any favorites, just enjoy your inputs on shared interests
Damn, I honestly just pissed my pants from laughing so much. Not big, just a little pee in the sewn flap of my skivvies, but pissed them none the less.Hows that for a legend. Im a car fixen, pants *******, legend.
Correct me if I'm wrong- but I think Ryan has always had some extra eyes moderating the board (big job!). Before Kevin, Rocky, CornCob & MetalShapes started in ***isting to keep things under control Killer and even Aaron Lasky had time in the moderator chair (right?). And if I'm wrong I'm totally sorry- that's just what I remember. I remember the entrance of many of the now greats. "Oneload" was a tough learner- but once he got with the flow it's all been good. Would have been one of the ones I wouldn't believe would last. He's got to rank high as "most improved" if there was a catagory- and I mean that in a nice way. Heck, even I have learned a ton and have very much tried to be a better HAMB brother rather than just another loudmouth
Jim, You're my hero just for your tag line. I love you man.......In a totally hetero***ual, red blooded American kind of way.
Jim Sibley is the H.A.M.B.'s very own "CHUCK NORRIS"!!! That's so cool!!! The thing I like most is, no matter what ur into if it be olds, pontiac, ford, chevy, or any type of racin if it be hotrod, custom or stocker. There will always be someone on this forum with the knowledge to help someone with whatever their question or trouble could be.
Whether they are on the HAMB or not - here's mine Germ for insightful view of life The Ferguson Family for stepping up to the plate making some serious investment in Ardun Enterprises. Cyclone Kevin - for re-making Cyclone stuff H&H Flatheads for keeping the legend of Barney Navarro going The Smith bros - for their work with Q/C rear ends Denise - for being hot rodding best amb***ador The Tardells for bringing hot rods to the fore and finally - my family - who put up with me being on the computer, staying in touch with whats happening here.
Thanks slammed, now if somebody could just get me loose from this cruel ******* that has me held for ransom I would be forever grateful. Bones
Denise , Desoto , Sam F , bad bob , royalshifter , Tman , Zman , kiwi kev , breeder and a ****load of others! did anyone mention jim sibley??
Wow! I got a legend vote? Sorry... I haven't been active on here for a few months. I'm spending some time going thru everything I've missed and trying to catch up. And, for the record... I'm still controversial. But probably not as much as the old days when we used to make new guys cry (remember the VW guy). How in the hell is everyone? hc
Andy is top of the list for me, yes this wonderful place has inspired many of us through its many legendary members. BUT...... Andy is the toughest person i know, he never gets down and always has a smile and chuckle to share with everyone. All while fighting chordoma every day. If you participated in the HAMBANDY build in ANY way..... you my friends are in the legend catagory.
