Customs HAMB Merc Club! who's in?????

Maybe they sold their Merc..

 

Put me in , Heres my 50, I had a friend buy this car years ago and I always wanted to get it from him and he finally gave in and let me have it. I've done a few things to it to kinda make it my own but theres still a lot more I'd like to do. Just doing a little bit at a time till it's done.

Mine is old news as most here have seen it. It has frenched headlights and a 4" stretch on hood and fenders. lol

I have a Merc scrapbook with literally 100's of Mercs in it and I have a pic of that Merc from a long time ago! Has to be at least 20 years ago,I think. I recognize the chop and Carson top. How long has it been around?

 

WOW! I've never seen the back of that Merc! I've seen the front many times...

 

What are you using for a rear window...shoebox?

I wasn't going to post my '51 Merc because, hell, I haven't really started on it yet. But after reading this thread, I guess I'm in too. I fired the flathead to make sure she ran. Lowered it with lowering springs in the front and blocks in the back. That's it for now 'til the '39 is a dependable driver.

 

That would make them about the same length as my Lincoln ones.

its a 53 i took this the last time i took it to paso my nephew is in the driver seat.
i used to take him with me all the time.

Here is some of the history on my car. It was done in the early 60s In california. I do not have any proof but they say by George Barris. Would anybody have any idea how to find out if this is a Barris custom or not ? Could you share any of your old pictures of it? Man this is a great site!!!!!!!!!!

Glad to have you here! I've always loved that Merc. It's the reason why I like Carson topped Mercs SOOOO much. A suggestion...if you paint the flat areas behind your grill,it would really enhance the "floater" grill effect. Is the top removable? I've never seen it with it off,so I thought,maybe it doesn't come off.
BTW-Many cars were worked on at the Barris shop,which doesn't necessarily make it a "Barris" car. He only put his crest on "Barris" cars,not on the cars that the shop just did some customizing on. There's been a few cars show up lately claiming to be Barris cars. Doesn't mean your car isn't nice,if it's NOT a Barris car! It's pretty cool,if you ask me...
