I am p***ing this info to my buddy. This is his 49 Merc that has been in his family since 1955. His dad gave to him in 1959, and we had some good times in it in high school during the early 60's. The engine is a 30 over 455 Pontiac with 6 Strombergs and a Munice 4 speed.

It would be kool to see the side stainless on the side of his Merc in person.

Well I plan On starting to put my heap together this Thursday. I will post a build thread for those who are interested in seeing the transformation of my Merc. I will be picking up the engine and transmission tomorrow for it.

 

I was wondering if you were making progress, looking forward to meeting ya.. If you have time to post the pics I'm interrested.

I am considering bringing a PAIR. One for Megan and I to cruise in and one for my pal Bruce (Engine Pro 5X) to enjoy. Mostly stock, with slight mods.

After Ron Myers bless's the art work with some pinstripes, I'll post the artwork for the
giveaway poster next week and hopefully by then I'll have the art work finished for the
shirts that we are giving away to the Hamb Merc gathering participants.... May have
some left over but it will be a very limited number of shirts.

Sorry JK, the shirts will be white but I have one set back for ya.

Guys have been asking me why I was promoting this Merc gathering. I'm very thankful
that Jerry & Devona ***us started Kustom Kemps of America. If it wasn't for them I
wouldn't have been introduced to this Kustom thing and I would have missed out on a
lot of Kool friends. I'm so grateful.

The HAMB is all about the real Kustom & Hot Rod guy and because of them we've seen
growth with in our Hobby. I've talked to some Merc owners that still had not heard of
the HAMB. I explained to them that the resources on the HAMB is unlimited and they
need to check it out. Like KKOA, I'm very thankful for the HAMB and because of Ryan’s
hard work Kustoms and Hot Rods will keep rolling down the road for years to come.

This Merc Gathering is going to be so kool...

I'm for shure interested,can't wait for the pics,and to see it at Salina!!I was plannin on having mine there ,but don't think its gonna make itWAY to much to do,and not near enough time.Hopefully it will be hittin the road by the end of the summer

I fired up my Merc for the fourth first time tonight. Now I just have to rewire the ****** and put all the sheet metal back on and I'll be ready. It'll be there, but, on a trailer.

Hey Mickey can I still get a shirt eveny with out getting my merc done and there? All else fails Ill load it on a trailer and haul it there in pieces.lol

 

Hey Mick,
I'll be there with the Lonely Knights. The Merc is getting a new coat of shiny after getting sandblasted in New Mexico on the way to Viva Las Vegas this year. Hopefully we'll be done by that Tuesday before. She's all torn apart right now :-(

 

You know guys, a 30th anniversary is a great thing by itself but everything else that's happening is going to make this very memorable. I wonder if there's anyway to get a group shot of all the participants at the show at one time. I know not everybody is a HAMBer but it might be something to put in the history book that will be written down the road. I'm looking forward to seeing each of you and your cars.

 

I talked to the wife this will be a cool anniversary trip for us. We will have to leave her 51 at home this time still to much to get it on the road.

 

Let me give you some advice... If you bring your Merc in pieces to a Kustom show, you
might go home with some parts missing. They are getting hard to find.... Ha, ha, ha

Nothing like finishing it the week before ya go...Good luck getting it back together. I was
hoping that I had more stuff done to my Merc but just ran out of time.

Great Idea, I'm getting up there a day early, I'll see where we could take a group picture,
It would be kool to do it by the KKOA Spectacular sign. This way we will never forget
where the first gathering was...

Just got my (KKOA) trendsetter magazine this week. Looks like they are going all out for the 30 year Anniversary show!!!! Plus the HAMB Mercury gathering.. We could not ask for anything more.... To Kool....

Well I am sorry about not posting any pics guys. I am trying like hell to get this car together for the show. I promise I will take a couple tomorrow morning to show you guys where I am at. but things are not looking that good at the moment.......

 

i just did the artwork and gave it to KKOA...... they'll be the ones printing the shirts. I'm not sure if theyre even going to use the art yet.....
