  7. A lazy Sunday bump...

Nearly 1500 views and only 232 votes? You lurkers do know that these polls are anonymous
and nobody is going to have their self esteem shattered nor their feelings hurt if they loose.
    Heck, this isn't soccer...

(with respect to the 'footballers' over the pond and down under. It's a P.C. thing...)

  13. Thanx all who got involved in the challenge of building some great Deuce models and to all who voted.

The turquoise coupe almost didn't make it because it turned into a bit of a chore. Even tho most of the parts are from one or other of the Revellogram Deuce kits, they didn't want to work together in this combination.

I'm especially bummed the hood doesn't fit as neatly as it should.

The engine block is from the Revellogram '48 F-1 with all the Navarro bits from the '48 coupe kit, which created a few more assembly headaches, but I had to use that block as the auto trans on the deuce kit flathead engine would be just so wrong for this car.

    The Parts list:
    Revellogram Deuce 5 Window kit
    Engine block from '48 F-1 pick-up
All other engine components from Revellogram '48 Ford kit.
Halibrand quickchange rear axle - resin from the parts box
Model A rear spring - resin from the parts box
Chromed rear shocks from God knows what, they were in my shocker stock.
Split front wishbones - resin from the parts box.
Finned Buick front brakes - resin from Replicas & Miniatures
Finned rear brakes (integrated into wheel backs) - resin from the parts box
Wheels from Modelhause (stock reversed fronts, widened reversed rears with spider caps)
Front tyres from who knows what? (my WWW tyres dept)
Rear tyres are same as Modelhause but minus the Firestone markings, so again I have no clue where they originated.
Exhaust pipes are combination of solder & styrene with aluminium 'injector tube' tailpipes.
Brake master cylinder - AMT '55 Chev.
Grille shell and radiator - resin from Replicas and miniatures
Photoetched grille & detail parts from Model Car Garage
Firewall - resin from replicas and miniatures
Radiator supports - stainless steel wire
    Fuel lines - nickel wire
Oil tank plumbing - copper wire and electrical insulation
    Plug leads from Paul.
Distributor and voltage regulator wiring - Detail Master
Taillamp bases and licence frame from Model car Garage, came on the same tree with the grille and radiator shell details
Extra pair of nerf bars from a second Deuce coupe kit (why do Revellogram put only one pair on the chrome tree in this kit?)
Aside from Alaclad chrome (front and rear wheel backs, brakes), satin black (running boards & rubber details), flat black (engine mounts) and satin clear (upholstery topcoat) plus a few different metalisers, the only paint used is either '57 Ford Turqouise or Racing White.

Everything else was in the box, including the '40 Ford dash and steering wheel.

After I sent the pics for voting, I decided to make some improvements.

Since I like the hood and some of my friends said it looks better without, I came up with a compromise. Hood open, delivers the best of both!

I'm still not sure about using a darker colour in the shutlines, but it din't look quite right as it was, so I bit the bullet and did something I don't normally do, it seems to work.

    ^ Well deserved win.

Mine was meant to have a hood, but I ran out of time to make headers and had to use the ones from the '40 sedan, which interfered with the hood.
