It's for HAMB guys to post their services if they own their own company or what not... Kind of a support your local HAMB guy type of thing.

I dunno, it might not work... or it might work. Either way, I'd like to have feedback! That said, I would appreciate feedback that is a little more constructive than "this ****s"... Instead, please give me the specifics of why it ****s or what it needs to make it better.

I love the idea ! I feel I can trust 99.99% of the guys ***ociated with the hamb. They have my business!

  7. i dig the idea, however, my post count is too low. i'm more of a lurker than a post *****, so it'l take me forever to be able to put my shop on there. oh,well. mabye i'll go on a posting spree, or dare i say...postal.
really though, this is a good idea.

    i like the idea.
i don't think it is pointless at all.
it should cut down on the "wanted: service in this area" type posts.

Great idea. There is a limitless amount of talent and experience on this board. Why not be able to tap into it. I know that I would rather pay a HAMB member to do the work on my trucks that I feel I am not qualified to do. It's way better then just picking some random guy to do it. Sounds like a great idea.

I look forward to seeing what is available in my area

    and by whom.

I don't have a business to include but if there were some kind of "fellow pages"

    I would be there.

What's gonna happen is that lame newbies will attempt to push up their post count to 100 as quickly as possible. Then they'll try to sell us adult diapers with flames on them at discount prices.

Haring, got to the Main Index - under Tech-0-matic.
    It's a new sub-section.

Great idea Ryan. Maybe to make sure it stays legit the HAMB can regulate. If the particular posts gets enough poor recommendations it gets dropped, because I sure as hell don't want to see an ad for 'flamed adult diapers'.

Are anonymous users allowed to browse that part of the board?

    Just wondering.

I think it is a great idea. ( I could have possibly saved some money when I had to buy a new turbo for my daily driver.)

I like the idea a lot, but I'm not so sure it's something that would work well in a Message Board/Posting format... Would it work better as part of the Jalopy Journal Website?
It would take more to manage that way, I understand. But would it get out of control in this format? Is there a way that there could be a forum that has more restrictions? Basically only one person could post, maybe not Ryan he's got his hands full I'm sure, but maybe a volunteer that could "filter" or "preview" posts before they're actually posted?

I'm not trying to come down on anything... I just think it could get a little out of hand, be difficult to follow without being divided up into some regions or specialties, or something...

I'm really just blabbering, Ryan... You wanted feedback. I'll be willing to help in any way I can...

All post have to be approved by me before they go live, so I will control what makes it and what doesn't... The sole function of this is to make sure we don't have guys that drove up their post counts and what not...

I plan on putting a lot of effort into this initially just to see if it works or not... If it doesn't, I'll s**** it... It really could be valuable I think though.
