  1. I don't think anything about you at all.

Funny that you edited your original post and your 2nd post to remove the prices and costs and you stated as evidence for your complaint.

Why so defensive? Strike a nerve? It's pretty easy to see that your prices are premium. Fact. Not opinion. That doesn't mean you don't have buyers. But they're certainly a smaller percentage of the market as a whole.

I'm not saying you don't have, build or sell nice parts either. Just that you're gonna be waiting for the right guy, and while doing so will be dealing with tire kickers and deal hunters, and typical internet sales bull. That comes with the territory low or high priced. But usually if you price things to sell, you'll get a serious no bs buyer. That is my experience at least....

    But...

Since we're having a dick measuring contest.

I have also sold box truck loads of high-end and valuable 32-36 Ford parts over many years. We have customers in Japan, Australia, South America, and all over Europe. Even Russia. Not to mention, having sold something in all 50 states. I have a very good pulse on the current market, What sells, and at what prices to buy to make money on this stuff. I've bought 3 undropped heavy axles this last year alone for $100, $100, $200 and sold them all for $500-600. Not to mention the the 2 dropped axles for 400 and 500, respectively. I usually dont buy dropped axles, because there isn't usually enough profit in it. So I'm making more money than you,? while spending less? But, I guess i don't know what I'm doing..

Good thing i don't have time to sell parts anymore, since I'm booked out for the next 4 years.

You're free to conduct your business as you see fit. But you've also got to deal with the consequences of those choices, which is likely low volume, low profit, simply by what information you've posted here...

I personally prefer to deal in high volume sales. It's just a different sales tactic and a different business reality.

Like I said, good luck with your sale. That wasn't tongue and cheek. I was literally offering encouragement there.

If we're having a dick measuring contest I've had major surgery and would lose. You've established a good name, reputation and deserve it. My little Nebraska no name business also has satisfied parts customers in many foreign countries, not only parts but several deuces I built over the years. My business model is different from yours. I'm just an old farm boy that was trying to survive doing something he enjoyed. Obviously your a more astute business man than me but I've managed to struggle by. My goal was never to get rich and I've accomplished that, but to produce the best parts and chassis I could. As I look back I think I've accomplished my goals. Gary at Cornhusker Rod & Custom

Matthew: Checked your Instagram page. I can't top that. You win. I quit.

  4. That's probably the best come back to that I've heard in a while. Lol the dick measuring. Not the quiting.

I've always held your contribution to the hobby as huge. And top tier work. So please, let me apologize for my typical Hitchhiker bluntness, that causes me to bump heads with many here.

Ultimately you've done what works for you for a long time and built a great reputation And products for many. And that's something to be proud of.

I think the reality is, you're dealing with guys in higher tax brackets than I do.

  5. Wow. At the end of the day you're just selling old parts. Some will buy them eventually the price will eventually seem cheap.

to the OP price it up 25% to inflation, then bring the price down like 5% when others ask for a discount.

shipping discount? Never heard of it.

and if you don't like them. Don't sell to them.

this has gone off the 1932 rails

Everybody has their own way of selling and buyers have their own ways of buying.
There is a cost to doing business with anything in life.
    That's the way it is.
Everyday is a good day fellas.
