My 1941 Plymouth PT125 pickup. Has a '58 Plymouth 230 flattie Six with the stock four speed and 4.10 rear gears! Definitely a head-turner, and fun to kick around in.
So, I guess everybody just needs to drive these old Mopars to Joplin for the HAMB drags - then have our own special (deluxe) meeting.
Hadn't seen this post before......heres my mopars.....the 41 Plymouth Coupe is a factory RHD car from Sth Africa, an older resto I bought it 4yrs ago, its still stock mechanically tho' dropped 2" all round, am slowly building up a 230 six with finned head, T5 etc............the 1940 Dodge Sedan is an Australian built Plymouth based Oz Dodge D15 Sedan, they used plymouth chassis/body shell/fenders/hood etc with Dodge grille, badges, dash etc.....I've had it since 1971, its had a 318 Poly since 1973, cast iron Torquflite,4 wheel discs, etc......andyd
Now dont get me wrong, I'm definitely not into Rat rods, and further more, I dont know if this is/was even a real police car...(did they put the town names on PD cars back then?) but I saw it on evilbay, and couln't help thinking to myself... My god, how f'in sweet would that car be, left absolutely stock, black walls/ dime caps and all, but given a good cleaning, and slammed to the ground. Perhaps i'm just crazy, but i think it be badass.
Count me in! I still haven't seen the sign up form. 48 ply Coupe og motor that will be beefed up some day when i can find parts. Bagged to lay on the ground soon. When i say soon its more like later. PM me if you have parts for 218 6 banger.
Quoting..."No offense to Glendale and those alike, but NEVER EVER is it acceptable to use a chevy motor, or ford in a Mopar and be a Mopar person. Doesn't make you any less of a rodder, but for the sake of the rest of us, keep the hood shut(period)." I'm in with my 47 coupe, rockin the ford 9" rear, 283 chev w/a 350 Turbo.....And "no hood" PERIOD. Don't get me wrong I plan to drop a 440 in it when time and money allow...but I got no problem at all rockin out just like it is!
Here is mine and my brothers. A -32 Thrift. This is how it looked like when we bought it six month ago. This will be our first rod built.
It is nice to see the Plymouth guys in one place. Here is my entrant - '51 suburban, 318 with 904 torqueflite.
